We purchased the Martha Stewart from Home Depot. It looks great and happy with it, however unless the space is exactly 24 or 36 inches you have to cut the shelves on a table saw to fit. So for the next two sections of the walk in we simply purchased the malamine boards, used the hanging track from Martha Stewart, used one of the Martha boards as a template to cut where they need to hang and made our own for a fraction of the price. LOEWS carried the exact colour of the malamine boards (espresso from Martha - truffle from LOEWS). Now this will only work for straight hanging and shelving. But since we needed to cut all the boards from the Martha kit anyways, we figured we may as well do it all ourselves. One line I found after we did out closets was Easy Closet- looks the same as the Martha line but they cut all the boards to your specifications, you only need to cut the trac. They were about the same price. If anyone is interested I can post some pics of both the Martha and our DIY portion of the closet.

Thanks guys! I put the dishes away this weekend (YAY!) and just put them in with no organizer or liner. They are fine for now, but I am sure when we are back in the kitchen fully and the kids are opening and closing the drawer they will rattle them some! I am going to start with a cushy half liner and if that doesn’t work look at other options, either pegs or something else. Hopefully the shelf liner is all I need. Chispa - I would LOVE a knife block in a drawer! I don’t think I have enough drawers for one though. :-(

Ahhh. Now i get it. I was in a house for sale that had a row of Pax wardrobes with the sliding doors. My friend wanted to replicate it so we checked them out at Ikea. Each cost about $1,000 but that was just the base price. When you started adding in the upgrades, she was looking at at least $1,500 per unit. Bottom line: cats are expensive.

I use a simpler app, Mealboard. Paprika is very pretty but it's definitely for people who like filling out forms. I've looked at the user guide and don't see a good way for adding recipes that aren't online. Mealboard used to let you import from your computer, but I think security issues nowadays prevent it. With their updated interface, you can copy and paste the fields more easily than in Paprika, but that's mostly because it has a simpler level of details. So, it's down to how good are you at typing, and do you have a proper keyboard, or are you stuck with onscreen, only (like on a tablet)? I'd say see if you can ask Paprika or, if they have it, a user group (there may be an unaffiliated one on Facebook, Reddit or similar, too). From what I can see, however, to go from paper to digital, you'd have to use an OCR (optical character reading) program with a scanner or a good quality screenshot, but if your recipes are clippings, and have strange colors small fonts, etc., they might be error riddled. Once your recipe is digital, you'd probably have to put it online to import it (you can get a free web page sufficient for this). I think typing it all would be a lot easier but while I'm not a fast typist, I do touch type and am very comfortable doing it. You might not want to go there. A number of years ago, I typed all my clippings and scratchpaper handed down recipes, et al., into Word. It really didn't take that long. Maybe a dozen hours to do what sounds like about one of your binders. Now, when I want to use a recipe from my computer on my iPad, I copy it into the online Mealboard interface, and it syncs to the app. This works fine for me, though I have to remember to check that the recipes are there on the iPad before I go off to cook somewhere else. I'd go nuts trying to import them all at once.. An advantage of having them in Word, some in just Notepad, (and backed up) is that I don't worry that they'll disappear. I haven't been storing the ones I import directly from the web, but I should. I only get new recipes when I'm about to make something new, though, or make up something, so only have a few hundred in the app. Most of my "want to try" ones are in books. Which I might type into the computer/app nowadays rather than scribbling on a paper out of the recycling bin. :) Good luck!
