Unexpected guests for lunch

Late this morning, my niece (who is a vegetarian) called to say that she was in town today with her 3-year-old daughter and wanted to meet somewhere for lunch, so I invited them to come here instead. My house was a mess, and I only had 45 minutes, so I did a whirlwind clean-up and then opened some cans of tuna, set out some cottage cheese and American cheese, and made a pretty arrangement of orange slices and red grapes. There was also some rye bread, and I offered juice and coffee.

We had a nice visit, and they've already departed, but I'm wondering what else I might have had on hand for a last-minute meal for company. What is your go-to meal for unexpected guests with small children?
