Wimpy sour dough starter....

I've been feeding this and baking with it now and then, but it still doesn't have enough oomph to raise a couple of loaves.

After a couple of loaves of very "solid" bread, I have resorted to adding a bit of yeast with the starter.

I have not yet tried leaving a loaf in a bread pan on the counter over night, but that may be next.

I dump some out....add flour and water,.....and it bubbles nicely but still doesn't double in 8 hours.

The starter came from someone who got it from someone who bought it!

What do I do?
