Makayla is going to love the homemade chicken nuggets. They are so much better than McD's.

My schedule is now Friday to Sunday so I'm off to work.

Sitting at home with the kids, planning to go grocery shopping and make some snacks for the big game Sunday. Dan has another game to go to tonight. Another lonely night with the kiddos but it is part of his job and I get to stay home with the kids.

We might have company over the weekend, I am having spring fever and ready to do something.....anything;)

TGIF all, crazy Louisiana weather here.... it's been tshirt weather almost hot and then last night we had another frost. But it's a glorious sunny day with blue skies.
Annie, I've got an easy oven baked nugget recipe that uses Ritz crackers for the breading. Still a tad junky I guess, but the kids loved it. Hope you, Ann and Stacie all stay warm.... geez but you all have had some nasty weather this year!
I'm hauling the horses in to town and meeting up with DH Joe who is taking off work mid afternoon so that we can go for a ride. We'll meet and ride along the Mississippi river levee and then head home for a quiet dinner which I hope to get prepped before leaving.
Saturday, I'm hoping to get in another ride, working on the barn and cooking something with ginger!!!
If it's raining, I'll probably watch "the game" on Sunday, but only for the commercials! But if the weather cooperates, we'll be out riding after church!

We had a major snowstorm on wednesday, the streets and sidewalks are slippery !! I'm having the kids over for dinner, DH is in between business trips
and this was our only chance.

I've been getting back to cooking more regularly so I did boeuf bourguignon, mashed potatoes, veggie sides and I even made cupcakes, half are frosted with maple fudge icing and the other half have chocolate frosting.

I went out to buy champagne, DD's girlfriend Andy won a $750. 3rd place award in a design contest hosted by Cirque du Soleil, we'll toast that.

Well it's lunch time here, so I raise my sprite to everyone, Happy Friday! Although, I am now thinking about getting champagne since you said that. Sounds like bubbly fun.

My little fella and I are going to adopt a kitten tomorrow, one to hang out with my pretty rescue kitty from a couple of months ago. Maggie has finally settled down and feels comfortable, but now seems sad since she no longer has companions all day long. She is so glad when we come home or get up in the morning. A little too glad, if you know what I mean.

Loads of school work, 99 days until I graduate (I've only been working on my undergraduate since 1986). I have to reread The Prince and finish reading Leviathan. I also have to read Chapter 1 in my "terrorism" class, and finish my first assignment for Political Parties. The first class is kicking my rear, but I knew it would. So I am on target.

Happy Friday! - Tonight is a home UNH hockey game against Vermont. Close friends of ours have a son paying for VT so we are conflicted. Our hope is that he scores a hat trick, but that UNH wins 4-3.

A huge snowstorm this week cut short DH's business trip to the Midwest. The shoveling at home is done, but tomorrow we clear off my parent's roof & head up to the lakehouse to do all the needed clearing there. We plan to stay through Monday.

Making my ginger dinner and am on the fence about trying a Double Ginger Cake w/ Marscapone Cream for dessert. Want to make it...know it will be hard to resist having just one slice.

My Canon camera arrived. I opened the box to take a look, but haven't taken time to learn to use it yet. Feeling the pressure since I want to photograph my ginger meal to share -

DH has big plans for Super Bowl day. Our team is not in it, so it's all about the food. He'd like to try Lou's recipe for pizza. I think with everything else being served he should save it for another weekend. We'll see.

DD is 6 wks. away from delivering our 1st grandchild. DS & fiancee put in an offer to buy their first home yesterday and are waiting to hear back. Lots going on -

TGIF all. Lots of snow and ice here since Tuesday, no power, propane is low, and telephone service is iffy! But we do have a generator that works most of the time,and I even got on line today!
If the gas co. delivers today I will find something to clink with tonight!

Happy Friday. It's a little cold here but better then what it has been. I've been working on staining a piece of old furniture that was in the family and it really is starting to look pretty good.

I'm going to participate in the virtual dinner on Sat. but haven't decided (yet) what I am going to make. My family is coming over and it will be a late lunch/early dinner as we are going with friends of ours to a concert.

Sunday is Super Bowl and if all works out, a ton of us will be in the Crab House eating steamed, spiced blue crabs, shrimp, etc. and watching the game. We are still trying to finalize the plans as I type.

As my team is not in this year it's not a huge deal to me but we enjoy sports and have fun with family and friends. I love seeing the commercials also!

Wow Wednesday I was at the beach and I'm so sun burned I'm glowing and today ... well temps are dropping quickly and we are expecting the 40's tonight. Definitely not beach weather today.

I'm a lucky gal - I got a package in the mail from our one and only LOU and he sent me some homemade pizzelles (sp) and some biscotti AND a PA Lottery Ticket!!! There was a picture of his birthday frogs in there too but they didn't know how to sing anything except Happy Birthday and since it's not my b-day, they remained quiet.

Sunday is my husband's birthday AND Superbowl Sunday so we are having a small get together here.

Hey maybe the frogs will sing on Sunday? *clink*

The usual stuff here. A Sunday birthday dinner for a girlfriend. Next Wednesday flying to Boca to see the ILs.

Shaun, what clothes should I pack? I'd love to get some pool or beach time in.

No big plans here for this weekend. I'm going to be playing with ginger tomorrow, that's for sure.

Kim is all excited about the big game on Sunday, she's in charge of the menu for that. I watch it for the commercials.

OMG-It's a ZOO everywhere I go. I'm going to lie low until after the Super Bowl festivities. We have celebs in town, I don't have an interest in them so no need to go to the activities. I don't have game tickets so no need to go to mid-town. Local TV is even crazy! Since when did prostitution and strip clubs become main stream to the point that these activities are listed along with all the other SB venues? The front page lists the cost of Super Bowl week 1. If you go here, stay there, do this, do that. Or 2. If go to this strip club, engage escorts from this company, etc.

Ok, I've vented and I'm just going to stay home.

It's still Friday so I can wish everybody a good rest of the day!

Yesterday was a magnificent sunny blue sky day so I drove my friend Anne to the nearby beach for a couple of hours where we walked around and had a look at the tourists trying to go from white-skinned to red-skinned LOL.

There was a strong wind and heavy seas so the red flag was out to warn that it was too dangerous to swim, but there sure were a lot of people there laying around, walking along the promenade or sitting in the cafes. We stopped for a bowl of soup before coming home.

Today it poured rain heavily so I took the car to Pilates in the morning and then afterwards did a bit of grocery shopping for our virtual dinner.
We had a lunch of spaghetti with bacon, feta & peas...Marilyn's recipe, yum.

Jim gets home from Romania this evening. His flight gets into San Francisco at 4:24, so if all goes well and traffic isn't bad, he'll be here by 7 or 7:30. BBQ Ribs (well, the prepared ones from Costco), baked beans, cole slaw and garlic bread. I figure he'll call me when they get their car, and I'll have an ETA to work towards.

I am sooooo tired of eating alone!

Here in Lakeland,40 miles from Mustang' place of residence, it is a little chilly since the cold rain left today. I woke up with a bit of a sore throat and a barking cough, so dinner tonight is chicken soup with celery, onions ,carrots and noodles. I will put a big dose of chiplote Tabasco sauce in my bowl so it will help open my sinus' up.

We are so fed up with the constant bombardment of Super Bowl this and that it makes me want to turn off the TV. My hubby has not watched football on TV since he got hurt playing football in high school when he was a freshman.I don't care for football either so the Super Bowl is just another day of nothing on TV to watch.Sorry folks that is just the way we are.

LOL!... another Super Bowl abstainer. Would make a good name for a toilet cleaner. Didn't even know they were playing football until I saw it on the front page of the newspaper.

rob333 it sounds like you have a wonderful course of study. I loved Hobbes in school. The right to save yourself as I recall. First time in western history human rights were addressed if my memory serves. The Prince must be the best book ever written by a prisoner. Something like it is better to be loved then feared but either works. A very practical man Mr. Machiavelli was. Don't remember them in detail as I read both during a 5 week summer class... along with Locke and Rousseau... think we also had Burke during that class. Twenty some years ago so my memory has gone foggy about it. Alas... what good does education do in this day and age?

I'm working Saturday with Sunday off. Should probably work on my taxes. Lots of fresh venison. Dolly is loving the scraps from the butchering. Soup that needs to be made for next week... probably venison chili.

Clinking with scotch and water tonight... I ran out of beer this week. Hitting the bar for last call after a hot shower.

Hobbes and fear "were born twins" and so fear motivates his every comment. Machiavelli says things like (paraphrasing) Mr. Prince, you should move in and colonize a place so less people die while being conquered, and thus, look like a good guy and thereby be hated less (be rotten, but fool them doing it.). What good does an education do? Nada. Except now I can tell my son he has to finish school.. with a clear conscience. :)
