I can't believe he died....

I am so sorry to bring you this sad news during the holiday season.

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71..

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers.. He was considered a very smart cookie, but wasted much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

A friend sent this and I thought it was cute.

Very sad.

He was a very nice man and hard working, never loaf around.

The rumor that he battered his wife was proven untrue.

We will miss him. I like to send flours to his funeral.

That's cute, cookie.

Last week, we went to a PeepsFest - the marshmallow kind, not the poultry kind. Thousands of Peeps gave up their lives for the three-story Peeps tree and an elementary school class diorama contest. I believe the only ones who suffered were those involved in becoming Peeps s'mores, roasted over fires outside the building.

I have a bareroot rose from last year and I have it in front of a side fence to discourage anyone from hopping the fence to get in the back. Someone stepped on it late last fall and broke and bent canes off to the ground and within a few inches. I cut them off and with normal watering it came back this spring, growing off what I thought were dead canes and I didn't see anywhere it could start growing from again. I almost think it's going to be a better rose bush for it. I don't think a bent, damaged cane could sustain the weight roses would put on it. From what you're saying I don't believe the rose will regrow the damage done. I don't really understand where it's broke out but I think you'll have to prune it off and hope to spark new growth with some watering. I'd be putting some Vitamin B1 on it for stress. You might create a well around the rose and water it deeply before you go, maybe it would be enough if it's not too warm where you are. Roses are pretty tough, I've had various accidents with them and thought they'd be toast and they were fine.

WOW!!! I know that was a hard thing to do. I kept waiting for the Polydamas butterflies to find my calico vine but they didn't touch it this year. It took me a while to finally give in and cut back one of the vines that had latched onto a light pole on the other side of my fence. That one worked it's way up to the top of the pole and it was covering the transformer - figured I better cut it down before it caused a power outage!!! Have yet to cut back my yellow morning glory vine though...that one has covered two 16 foot long fence panels, covered a 10 foot tall pony palm and worked its way up into my neighbor's oak tree :o) That's what he gets for allowing the branches hang over into my yard :o) ~ Cat

rhizo 1, Absolutely take the lesson one step further,if it prevents this from happening to others. I am ashamed to say you were right when you noted the Herbicide was in another container marked Insecticide,serves me right for being so foolish to do that in the first place. I appreciate the advice given about the soapy water and other tips.I Guess I panicked when I saw the vast amount of Aphids all over my plants.I have a large Garden and did not want them to spread all any further.

I have my 8x10 "art Room" but thats just for a supply room!lol! I work in the dining room and living room! DH actually likes his 4 days of working 14hrs outta the house!ha! Then I try and clean up for a few days, but lately I've been so BAD! I've left stuff out as I am bugging him for moving near Cindy! to a rancher the same size but no land,(would loose 1/2acre) but has a sunroom that is 15x23!!!! DH is wanting to move to that lil town but that did not work out soo....I'm sooo bad, will I ever behave??!!!Closer to Cindy(5 min drive!!) AND a workshop, hey does it get any better???!!!!I'm sooo selfish! ha! BTW: I still am trying to get over the tittle of this post! I thought, OH NO! He(DH)is kicking her out for her mosaic addiction! (Too close to home!lol) Yup, it's an eye catcher of a post!!! heh heh!

LOL! I will be sharing this with DS. When he was in the baking and pastry program at the local Joint Vocational School, his nick name was the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Yes he was "fluffy" then, lost way too much weight after high school, and has gained it all back again, unfortunately. He did need to gain back some, as he was too thin, to the point I think he was malnourished at the time, but as he had moved out, I had no control over what/how/when he ate. He still can giggle like the Dough Boy!

My neighbor across the street has THE Poppin' Fresh Dough Boy collection of all time, and even a personalized "doughboy" car tag. She would be upset at the obituary, so I'll just enjoy it myself. Thanks for the grin everyone.

I heard just recently that the guy who wrote 'The Hokey Pokey' died. It wasn't unexpected, he had lived a long and happy life, etc. and everybody was doing all right until the staff at the funeral home attempted to put the body in the coffin. You see, the first thing they did was to put the left foot in...and that's when all the trouble started.
