email font size

I would like to know how I can change the size of the print when I send an email. I create mail, go to format, font, size 14 but when I start to type it goes back to size 12?? I have even tried highlighting it and then changing it but that doesn't work either. I am completely lost. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks

i have OE and i go to tools/options/compose and change the font there and it will be your default font. if you want to change only one message, type your message then highlite it all, then change it in format.

I just tried as you said but the minute I start typing it goes back to the other size?????

I right click on the desktop, click on personalize, windows color, then advanced settings. You click on the area you want to change and the options will come up. If you are using Firefox, install the ad on called "no squint" and you will have an option in it. I find the whites so hard on my eyes, I like to change backgrounds to a pastel. The only thing I have been able to change is the first page in WLmail.

DA... thanks. That works at least for one test. So dose Control +/- on the active text. Strange that "Compose" doesn't affect font size while Display does. Seem either or both could be the needed function - but when composing it is Display that determines the font size. I'll Google for the pain size. Sorry to put you to that extra work/test but when I can't figure out some computer question my first thought is gardenweb/computer... not Google/Web.

Are you referring to Notepad (click Start/All programs/Accessories/Notepad)? If so and a fix is not offered here you could visit How-to Geek and select a free text editor from those listed there. How-to Geek has been around forever offering solid help so there should be no fear downloading anything suggested there.

Stargazzer, have never found a way to change the format after its been typed but that worked great. Thanks.

works for me. when it was snowing one day i wrote an email to a friend with a snow drift font by typing it, highliting it then changing like i said. i sent on it's way, then i remembered it doesn't show to the recipient if they don't have it on their PC.

i use OE 6.
