DA... thanks. That works at least for one test. So dose Control +/- on the active text. Strange that "Compose" doesn't affect font size while Display does. Seem either or both could be the needed function - but when composing it is Display that determines the font size. I'll Google for the pain size. Sorry to put you to that extra work/test but when I can't figure out some computer question my first thought is gardenweb/computer... not Google/Web.

I looked at the "source code" of the mail, which shows what the actual text of the message is, and I can see that it's using a multi-part format. Part 1 is a plain text version of the email, and Part 2 is the HTML version of the email. That version doesn't have any indication of what font to use, so you changing it on your side wouldn't make any difference. Maybe. I don't see the odd "=" signs sprinkled around, but they might be interfering with the HTML rendering on some clients. When I read your email in gmail via its website, your email looks okay. (The blue background and tiny font is stripped away.) But when I use a local email application (Mac's Mail.App), the blue background is still there, and the font is smaller than my selected default, but not TOO small, which means, I think, that the quoted-printable stuff is correctly interpreted. When I use Sparrow Mail (a desktop app that integrates with gmail), it's tiny. Sparrow is a brand new application, so they've probably not yet felt the need to deal with old-school quoted-printable content.OK back to me in OEX 6...........I went to: Tools > Options > Send > Mail Sending Format > Settings (HTML or Plain, whichever) > Encode text using: (None or Quoted Printable or Base 64) choose None. I had been sending email using HTML with the MIME mssg format setting 'Encode text using: Quoted Printable' . I changed that to None. The Plain Text Mime Format was set by default to: 'Encode text using: None'. I then sent emails to my Inbox account both HTML and Plain Text. The Plain Text-None font came out proper size. The HTML - None font was still tiny. Now why was I using HTML all these years? Well the HTML Compose Pane has a format toolbar. The Plain Text pane does not. Evidently with OEX 6 you can have formatting ability or Plain Text - not both. On my Yahoo account the choice is Rich Text with formatting or Plain without. So it would seem I need to use OEX Plain Text or another email program to eliminate recipients getting tiny font mssgs.

I'm having the back/double click problem. Very annoying. Don't have the text size problem though. I use Firefox with the Zoom Text Toolbar add on. With that you can change the text and it will stay that size. When you come to a site that has too small, or too large text size you just click the Icon on that Tool bar and it changes for that page. I just wanted to jump in and say there are many many more great tablets out there other than the ipad and much cheaper too. I have a few and absolutely love them, I can do pretty much what I do on my pc and I have several different ereader apps on them so I can read kindle format books, I can read epub format like nook books and get ebooks from the library since they also use epub format. That way I can get my books from pretty much anywhere I am not limited to just Amazon. I have lots of free books I get from sites all over the internet. I tried my brother in laws kindle before I ever made a purchase and it just was not for me, the flash of page turns messed with me and gave me headaches. And if I was going to spend the money I wanted one that did more than just one thing. If you do searches here and at the computer help forum you will find many of us here have other tablets like the Pandigital Novel, and other Android OS tablets. I just recently bought a sylvania one which I am really enjoying. I do have one device that is strictly an ereader, it has color and it connects to wifi so I can get books directly to it, it is a Lookbook and they have had them on sale from time to time at CVS for $50 an amazing price it looks very much like the kindle and it comes with a very nice case. Do some searches here for the many many threads we have where we discuss them and the various options. I have paid under $150 for all of mine. I just can not see paying so much more for an ipad. My hairdresser was looking at my new tablet recently and said she liked it a lot better than her ipad, to me the ipad it a little large and heavy that was her complaint also. I also love the Andorid OS and all the tons of apps out there you can add to the device. I have a ton of games on mine and like I said several ereader apps, I watch youtube, videos, music, pictures, surf, post here from them, do my email. These little tablets pack a big punch and can do a LOT of stuff. AND none of the tablets I have use a cell phone connection so there is absolutely NO monthly charges involved, they connect to wifi easily and you can do all your internet stuff that way.
