I finished making my calendar yesterday but I used what I
had on hand.
Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 and ScreenHunter 5 for screen shots
To start with I took a screen shot of the month of January from the Microsoft Calendar on my computer and paste it in
Adobe 6 - enlarged it - merged visible - and than added my
picture - and than printed.
You may not have time for that.

do you have the option to make a 7 x 7 calender? i buy one every year and they run $7. or more. i keep it on my desk in a letter holder. i mark appts. and clip the appropriate appt card to the month's page. it is the handiest calendar i have used and it would be fun to learn how and to use my own photos.

i forgot to tell cboy i like the next month's week on the page.

Stargazzer you could create something similar to Cboy. You may not have the programs he has but the free Irfanview would be enough to do the job.

Type 'free calendars' without quotes into Google. Find and download a suitable calendar.
Find your 12 photos and crop or resize to 7 x 3.5
Resize the months to 7 x 3.5
Create a blank page 7 x 7 in Irfanview
Open the first photo and January
Copy and paste each into the blank page
Save
Repeat the process 11 times.

A cheaper, quicker method is to buy an appointment book at the dollar store. These are about 6 inches by 3 inches with a plastic cover. We bought them and I created a new cover with my wife's Red Hat club logo on and we inserted that into the outer plastic sleeve for each member.

Yes, my calendar are 8x11 They tend to curl at the edges some
as time goes by. I probably should use stiffer paper and
learn how to bind the top.

I made a grid to use to place numbers in and a picture of my choice for each month as needed.
I put a border for posting here to see.
Otherwise it is all white for use.
I used PSP7. Did this and was experimenting in 2003 just for fun.
Should have used a "snow" scene for January.

Good calendar Urlee, I used your grid to make one month just to see how it worked out. Some of the grid line disappeared for me causing me to guess were the lines were.

You said you used PSP7. What is that?

When I click on the above link (for Image and video hosting by timypic) , I can't see the picture of the calendar. Instead I get an Upload Images and Videos page. What am I doing wrong? This sometimes happens with other links also.

Janette, you are doing nothing wrong. I get that too, perhaps it is tinypic's way of advertising themselves. The underlying link is to the tinypic home page

PSP7 is a software program I learned about on the Graphics & scanning forum. Newer versions are out now tho.
It is used to create and work with photo's and animations.

I use double sided photo paper for calendars...it is just like a ready-made calendar you would buy. I bought some of that sort of paper in Wal-Mart, but they stopped selling it, so I went to a local office supply store...Office Max has it also..and they will spiral bind them for just a few dollars.

PSP 7 is the best I think...I have found that the later versions don't have animation shop to make gifs like the ones urlee has made.

PSP9 (Paint Shop Pro) and X (10) is the last of the best?

Our Wal-mart still handles that double sided paper made by Printworks but I liked it better when it was heavier.

You can also make one to place on your Desktop wallpaper.

The paper we had was made by Kodak and it was heavy and glossy just like the calendars you buy.

Your word processing programs all have a calendar wizard with them with all kinds of styles of calendars...
