Hi, I was wondering if anybody can help me with my problem. I bought the windows 7 program for my laptop on-line and i tried downloading it to my computer but it seems not to be working, i had it running for 4 hrs, and there was no progress and it kept on pausing and resuming on its own, it goes up to 4% and then totally starts the process again. Can anybody tell me what i can do about this? I have an HP pavillion dv4-1225dx laptop. Any help on how to download windows 7 would be greatly appreaciated.

When you speak of upgrading "my Dell computer", you're not speaking of installing an upgrade over top of XP are you? If so, I misunderstand, so disregard the rest of my post. :) So I'm assuming you intend to purchase a retail version of Windows 7 and do a clean install. In the first line of your post you mention 512 MB of RAM, a date, and then 2.00 GB of RAM. Does that mean it now has 2.00 GB of RAM or maybe 2 1/2 GB of RAM? Either way, I'm no expert but I'd think 512 MB is less than enough, but either 2 or 2 1/2 GB would be fine. I don't know much about Office, but wasn't Office 2003 was the last version that had the old style menu, before the newfangled ribbon came along. According to this, your Office 2002 would not be compatible but according to this, Office 2003 would be. Would your 2002 macros work in 2003? I don't know. Would it be worth the expense of buying a retail version of Windows 7, as well as Office 2003(or at least Word)? To me, probably not, to you, only you can decide. Personally, since it works, I'd probably just continue using it. Continue running a good real-time AV, occasionally scanning with a couple on-demand malware tools(Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware come to mind), use Firefox or Chrome(lie detected), using the WOT add-on(trusting it somewhat less than fully), and being careful what I open(email) and what I install. I am not sure why black is used with white windows. I am also not sure why white spacers are not available with white windows...

I’m not sure how to reply to an individual comment, but to those who actually helped answer my question, thank you so much!! The width is 32”. I actually like the look of 1’ off the floor and 2’ above (again, for drapes, and yes, I like the look of drapes). ((: I will however rethink 12” vs 18” off the floor if it means I’ll have to have tempered glass. I just assumed they would have to be tempered anyhow w/the large size, but maybe not per some of the comments. Yes, I plan to speak to a local supplier as well. Of course. I just wanted an idea if we’re talking a thousand dollar difference per window to go from 6’ to 7’, or less of a cost difference. That is a big difference. A couple to a few hundred dollar difference is not a deal breaker. The 15’ tall walls are also a cathedral open ceiling. As far as “is it worth looking out of, or my neighbor eating ice cream” or whatever that comment was, lolol. Yes! It is so worth it. We’re building on 40 acres. there has been a big problem with some of the ones bought online they are using a .box file type rather than an .iso file. This is causing a hang upon installation, if you got this type they are now going back and reissuing the .iso type.

My spouse got a Windows 7 disk with here laptop which came loaded with vista. The disk took a couple of hours. I would think that a download might be quite frustrating.

i bought it from digital river, its a website that is an authorized reseller for microsoft, Im a student and my school directed me to this website in order to obtain it for 29.99 which is a great deal. Also they allow two type of downloads. ISO and EXE. I tried with the EXE. and its just not downloading what so ever. Im getting really frustrated, PLEASE HELP!!!

did you read my link that is where they were talking about in the article digital river. You will do much better with the iso file. check out the link it has good info.

Yeah, THANKS ALOT ravencajun, that was really helpful but im kinda scared of downloading iso since it would be a "clean" download, and from my understanding that means i will loose all apps. and other programs i already have, and it asks for me to turn of my antivirus and firewall off. Do you know if this is safe at all, i really wouldnt like to do that all. Also I emailed digital river with this concern and they told me to upgrade my browser, which i did, i upgraded to explorer 8 i dont know if that will help much but I will try once again tomorrow. If there are any other suggestions out there I would SERIOUSLY appreciate them.
