Oh my, didn't I have a wonderful suprise yesterday! Got home to find a parcel from Erie PA waiting for me. The name and address meant nothing to me. I opened it to find a beautiful large tin of Pizzelles from Petrone's in Erie, sent to me my Brenda! There are three flavours , Anise, Cinnamon and Vanilla, they smell divine and look so pretty! This will be the perfect accompaniment to the Trifle I made for dessert tonight!

Brenda you really shouldn't have gone to the trouble with all you have been through but I truly appreciate it!

I came home last night to find a package waiting for me. The address also confused me, being that I know no one in PA... I love it! I have been wanting to buy the press to make Pizzelles and now that my husband can try them I bet I get one for my b-day! Thanks so much Brenda!
Thanks to everyone for letting me play! I now have my 5 dozen cookies so I can make my cookie tray. I hope to do this again next year!

Hey, I dropped off the face of the earth. Some brutal work hours with no days off. Sorry about that. Nightnurse- I'll try and stay on topic but that cornbread looks incredible. Looks perfect for a Sunday morning. Thank you so much for sharing. A perfect way to use up my abundance of black eyed peas:) Jim- I don't have anything really great anymore.. It's kind of embarassing and disheartening. I apologize for being a lazy bum here but are you interested in tropical aquatic plants? The things I need to go revive are things like my crypt collection that went through a melt when I neglected them and need to beef back up.. nothing spectacular.. c. balansae C. retrospiralis C. Spiralis C. lucens C. petchi C. willisii C. walkeri The worst of it is they can be a pain to identify at the best of times and right now they're melted to nothing.. being crypts I'm sure they'll come back but they're going to need some coddling. I have the usual stuff like E tennelus some vals and Sagittaria subulata, I mowed those down when I moved tanks but they grow like weeds so I'm sure, especially if I give them some plant love, that they'll be back strong soon.. anubias nana that I'm karmically obligated to share because the original piece was given to me maybe 7 years ago. I killed or preemptively gave away all the fun stuff like glosso, my toninas honestly don't know if the Didiplis diandra, Ludwigia arcuata or Heteranthera zosterfolia is kicking around in a tank somewhere or not. Like I said, it's embarassing. Not sure if that's any help or not. My digital camera's a battery sucking older one and I need to get rechargable batteries before it's much use.. which is a good excuse to buy time to get my tanks, and their plants, looking at least somewhat presentable. My boyfriend's scheduled to go back to London in early Marchand I've already explained his flight plans can't conflict with this. He's not very impressed with it but I think he caught the determination in my voice.

Bosch FD refrigerators in this price range all have external water/ice, I think. The ones without it are built-ins that cost over $6000. I agree with the poster who said a fridge without external water/ice can save you a lot of trouble with repairs and also is more likely to still look good 4 years from now. My aunt-in-law has a Whirlpool non-counter depth FD that looks fantastic and that she loves. They look great--they can hold their own when surrounded with nice appliances like the ones the OP is contemplating--and ours works great; they get fabulous reviews on Amazon.com, too. I have a dual fuel but I agree that in this budget, it makes no sense. It would be better to save the money or put it towards something else (a decent range hood, for example? I am so glad you liked them Alexa. Just so everyone knows, I sent out the xmas cards with the recipe inside today. If anyone wants the recipe for the "suprise", just ask. Should I let you know what kind they are or would anyone like to guess? :) I can't thank everyone enough for letting me join! This was my first cookie exchange and I was a little nervous. Didn't know what kind of cookie was "acceptable" for an exchange like this. I hope everyone likes them!

Thanks for the recipe Ann. And thank you for sending Diana the olive oil so she had the perfect bottle for her Vanilla extract. I've never seen Vanilla beans this fresh either. Annie, Thanks to Diana, I now had a good use to put the Vodka to or it would be sitting around here forever. I used one the beans last night to make Oatmeal cookies. After I scraped out the seeds (so moist) I added the rest of the bean to a jar of vanilla sugar that I had started quite a while ago. Ann

Boy was this a surprise! Mine actually came a couple of days ago - but I stashed the box in my pile of stuff I had ordered from various online vendors, thought it was something I had ordered for DH.

When I opened the box to wrap it for DH I was amazed to see a box of goodies for me!

Thanks so much Brenda - the pizzelle are delish and the boys have already snacked on the little chocolate goodies tucked around the beautiful cookies.

Finally, I got a picture loaded. Here are my cookies from Brenda. Of course, I'm stuffed still from yesterday so I haven't tasted them but they look like they'll be delicious with a cup of tea later this week.

Me Too-- unfortunately got them same day my old pc finally died so haven't been able to post-- and now that the new one is finally up & running I want to express (late but still heartfelt) my thanks to Brenda --
I know how tough things have been for you Brenda & you still spared time & thoughts for the rest of us . You certainly epitomize the spirit of the season.
