Wholesale buyer won't let me buy from them!!
Comments (32)Rue Anemone: I have a suggestion for you, since you are new to the retail business. This winter, when you have a little time, perhaps you can attend at least one industry trade show. The two largest, and nearest to you, would be the Mid-Am show, which is in Chicago, usually the third week of January. It is a huge show, and you would find many vendors there, both in woody plants and perennials. Or, you could attend the CENTS show in Ohio - very big as well, and many nurseries and perennial growers represented there as well. This might give you a better overall view of the industry, as well as a wider palette of vendors to choose from. There are many excellent growers in the heart of the country, as well as east and west coast growers. These are not expensive shows to attend, if you like, there are optional seminars which are usually very well done and worth the time. Bring your walking shoes, a sturdy bag or briefcase to carry all your catalogs, and an open mind. I think you'd find this really helpful in your new business venture. Hope you've had a good season and are gearing up for an even better 2006! PP...See MoreVirus won't let me do anything to try to fix it.
Comments (23)Aintnosunshine the first thing you should do is start a new thread rather than find a 6 month old one as this only causes confusion. When you start the new thread please include the computer make and model, all names of firewall, anti virus and anti malware programs you are running and when they were last updated and a full test ran. "Some message pops up" up is useless, write the message down and post that too, it might be the biggest help of all. Help can only be as good as the input provided by the person needing the help. Comments (4)I had tried that, owbist...thanks for the suggestion, though. If you think if any other possibilities, let me know. :) Sorry to widen the scope, but I just happen to think that I've also noticed lately that youtube videos vibrate up and down and the play is jumpy and lags behind. Also, many drop down menus are jumpy when I click on them. I don't know if there's a connection. I have cleared cache and defragged. Comments (13)With the multi-point locking systems, you have the bolt that extends out into the secondary door (or door frame if you only have 1 door) at the level of the handle, you have a smaller "bolt" that extends out of the top of the door into the upper door frame and one that extends out the bottom of the door into the sill. When the lock is engaged, all these bolts are sticking out. If someone engages the locks with the door open then tries to shut it, the bolts slam into the surrounding frame and damage it. Walk into just about any showroom with French doors on display and take a look at the frames (especially the upper frame). That was one of Pella's selling points was that their mechanism was made to push back into the door if the lock was engaged with the door open and you then tried to shut it. After it was shut, the locks slid back out of the door and into place within the frame & the door is locked with no damage to the surrounding frame, sill or adjacent door. If you're worried about not having a multi point system for security reasons, you can always do a regular deadbolt and slide bolts at the top & bottom. Typically the slide bolts will be much longer than the short little bolts on the integrated multi-point system for a higher level of security IMO. My thoughts on this is that its overkill--if an intruder wants in, he's going to find a way--odds are he will just break the glass and turn the locks whether multi-point or deadbolt. Plus deadbolts & slide bolts are easier to remember how to operate--there is usually a trick to engaging the multi-point lock system. I think with my Mom's doors you have to turn the lock a couple times then flip the lever up to engage the lock. Your secondary swing door of the French door set should bolt in place. That's the biggest part of how the primary swing door is secured when locked. Hope this helps!...See More- 12 years ago
