I have gotten soil test by the county extension office here and it comes with specific targetted recommendations based on the results. Did you get your test from the county extension? If you suspect your water (well water I presume), then you should get that tested as well. Look for a private testing lab that does not do treatments to get the most objective results. It might cost some bucks. Around here it runs from $65 to $125 for various combinations of testing -- most of which are designed for potable water. Well water should be tested periodically.

The gear pinions broken are briggs brand plastic gear pinions part #693059 now replaced with #695708. Today I bought another clutch and gear pinion but it's pouring rain in Mid TN and too wet to work on it. Without looking at it now. I'm having trouble understanding why the metal shaft going through the clutch and gear pinion (armature shaft?) would spin and the clutch and gear pinion will not spin while the gear pinion is engaged with the flywheel. It seems to work fine when plugs are removed. Im glad to hear about the OHV v flathead scenerio. Didn't really want to mess with valves, because it has been running good prior to this starter situation. One thing I might mention, coil was recently bad, and my neighbor drove this thing around without the engine cover on and running on one cylinder. I was not present the last tinme the gear pinion broke, but I believe the mower was running hot. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, that's what I needed. Outlook is the client or 'application'. The fix is made within the browser, I am assuming IE8 or 9. Click on Tools from the toolbar in Internet Explorer 8 (or 9) and select Internet Options . Then select the Programs tab from the top of the window to access the default browser settings. Click on the 'Make default' button, you can even choose to be alerted if Internet Explorer is not your default browser. Click OK to save your changes. Close IE and try again to access your hyperlinks. There is also a Microsoft 'Fixit' for this if the first step is unsuccessful.
