My pictures are all there but the list on the left that had View as a Slide show and other stuff is gone. I must have changed something but can't figure out what. Can you tell me how to change it back...

My pictures are in "My Pictures " where they should be, it's just that the View as a slide show and other things are gone. I would like to get that back...

Lars, it wasn't cool in the daytime, it was well into the 70s, but early morning and after dark it cooled off into the 40s, enough that I wished I had not forgotten that jacket. Hey, I think YOU look better than that shirtless guy on the street corner too. AnnT, I loved the market. I told Elery that when I got to the cheese shop with a million cheeses, I think I blacked out, LOL. And the bread was amazing. I also got a Montreal style bagel from St. Urbain, but I messed up. I asked for an Asiago Cheese bagel, and when I got back to the hotel, I found she had actually given me a pastry filled with some sweetened ricotta filling. It was so busy I probably got someone else's breakfast. Peppi, if you head that way, call me first, I'll go with you. It was great fun. Hey, maybe Linda (doucanoe) wants to come along too. Toronto would never be the same. (grin) Yes, Gina, I think Elery IS cute, LOL, but I'll tell him you said so. Deb, sorry about the pigs...... Annie

Hi everyone. Lars - Aleena is only a small plant (about 5" across) and judging by the size of the inflorescence on the Vriesea in front of your plant, it seems much larger. I have found out since growing bromeliads that good light = good colour. If the light is too low, the colour disappears and many plant's colour will change to various shades of green, indeed many spotted plants lose their spots also. Quite apart from the colour, the leaves will also grow thinner and longer, this is their way of telling you they are reaching out for better light whereas a plant grown in very strong light will be more compact with wider and shorter leaves. However, don't confuse strong light with direct sun; in many cases here where I live direct sun will burn brom's, but I have found that a covering of 75% beige shade cloth gives me the best colour. As for growing brom's from seed, I started out by just using the seeds that were the result of pollination by insects. Although they grow OK, you have no control or way of knowing who the parents were. If you pollinate the plants yourself (as I do now) you can select the parents and be guided by the types and quality of plants they have bred in the past. This improves your chances of breeding something worthwhile. Like all plants, you may be lucky enough to breed one or two good quality plants, but you will also breed a lot of rubbish as well, and this is why it's important to cull, cull, cull; otherwise your whole yard will be taken over by poorly grown and over crowded plants. I know because I made the mistake of not culling when I should have. Below are 6 pic's of plants from my own crossings; no show winners, but I think they're nice enough to keep just the same. I'm on the fence about the curtains. I like the softness factor, but not the traditional factor. That was an older picture of our great room. There is now some artwork, and a zebra rug. The angle of the picture shows a lot more floor. We are getting a new chandelier soon - when it's hung, I will try to choose. Thanks for the input. I LOVE this board!!!!!

It might effectively be "extinct". My idea/vision is, that it should be possible to breed a copy of it from "Ambiance" x "Flamenco Queen" - both of which are readily available. Be aware that you can only pollinate "Ambiance" - THEIR pollen has repeatedly proven to be sterile. And WHEN you pollinate on "Ambiance" then you must pollinate as many flowers as possible, since the count of VIABLE seed per seed pod is low, it is always below 25, and the germination rate of the selected seed will be around 50%.

have you clicked up at the top on View then selected your view choice? in windows when you are looking at the pictures in your My Pictures folder just hit the view button and choose how you want to view them.
Also up there next to the back and forward arrow is the search and folders icons then there is another icon with a drop down arrow, click that to choose how to view them also.

In XP in the My Pictures folder and all others is a VIEW tab on top
I see thumbnail but no slide show button

Is there a "Folders" button? Try clicking that.

I suspect you have it set to show the folders rather than tasks.

In my XP, in the My Pictures folder, and view, it does not say slide show either, it says filmstrip. Might depend upon the version of XP a person has.

The Folders button is not in the View menu. It is on the same toolbar as the Back button, etc.

It might be hidden and you will have to expand the list. Try clicking on the down arrow just beside "Picture Tasks" on the left side of the screen.

Hi Clairdo,
I have XP Home and on the left side there are several options - the very top one which is "picture tasks" you will see three more options one of which is "view as a slide show"
However if you do not see anything on the left of "my pictures", then you somehow have changed from what I think is called XP view to classic view..
You can remedy this by going to the control panel>folders> the first tab is "general" Tick "show common tasks in folders", rather than "use windows classic folders" and the side options should come back - it does with mine...

As anna 13 said expand the list. In this case colapse the
bottom one (detail) and that will make room for the top one to show.
