comcast adding contact problem

I am having trouble with the "adding contact" in my address book. I have been talking to a comcast rep twice today and neither time have they been able to help me. The problem is that when I go to my address book and try to add a contact the page briefly flickers showing the correct form to add a contact but then the page turns blue and I cannot add a contact. Comcast said they can see the page ok and that it had something to do with my browser. My DBIL (the family puter xpert) says that ain't so. I called back and the girl went through all the steps again and then ended up telling me to run my spyware/antivirus program which is AVG. Nothing came up there. And no change. I can only send mail if I hit reply or forward and if I forward, then I have to manually put in the addresses. Does anyone here have any idea what is going on? TIA!
