Eudora and Comcast Problem

O.K. I've talked to Comcast till I'm blue in the face, goggled every conceivable title for problem I'm having and still no results.

Whenever someone hits "Reply" to a message I've sent, it sometimes comes back to them as "undeliverable..and winds up with showing secsteve@mail.comcast.net. As far as I can tell the @mail is what is causing the problem, but darn if I can figure it out and Comcast is no help. I tried the Eudora help forums too with no luck.

It seems to be happening more frequently now and I'm at my wits end. I've checked all the settings in both Eudora for PC and Eudora for Mac and I know their correct.

Any suggestions/insights as what may be causing the problem?

It sure sounds like eudora is adding that mail. to your return address but I have no idea why. Is the problem always with the same users and does it happen for them every time or just now and then?

Bob, it seems to happen to a select few users and only when they hit Reply. As I said, I know Eudora is set up right so don't know what is causing it.

A friend said today when he added me (I guess from the email I sent) it added the @mail.comcast.net.

Eudora help didn't have any answer at all, so hope someone can give me a way to resolve this problem.

yosemitebill, things turned out very well. Thanks for asking. I almost lost my mind but good people are still out there. I even wrote a book called "Changing My Life Through the Kindness of Strangers a couple of years ago.These forums prove that point so well I think. Like I said after all the days off from work and the comcast people who hung up when they didn't know the answer there is a rose named Crystal who not only got the engineers working on it from her end instead of another tech home visit and then sent me a new DVR. AND, as I think I said, credited me all the way back to when I got the DVRs and gave me all the HBO and several other channels I did not have. She made her employer look very good. Now I must reward her with praise as I have done with other comcast superstars and there are a few. I always ask where they are located and have been successful in getting to one supervisor who was shocked, truly, by my phone call. Yes, dish installation has proven to not work. Love where I live and the people who pioneered through this subject before. Thanks for your kindness, Bill, and followup. I learned some things from you that I will pass on.

Anyone have Eudora Kitchen Cabinets

We're in the midst of a kitchen remodel and just had our Eudora cabinets delivered yesterday. Two were improperly packed and destroyed in shipping. The rest have multiple paint flaws, cracks in joints, and generally shoddy workmanship. The glaze is 5 different shades and looks like is was applied by a kindergarten class. My wife and I are so upset with this absolute junk we called our designer and told him to get them out of our house and refund our money. We'll see how that goes but the final word is: don't buy Eudora cabinets!

You might be very happy using Google's Gmail system. It has all (or most) of the features of Outlook including email, calendar, contact book, and other little applets. It was made to compete with Outlook. Many companies use it as their internal system, yet it's easy enough for any individual to use. ellie, I need a high speed connection, faster than DSL can provide, because I type very, very fast..............just kidding. It's really nothing exotic. I need a robust up-link capacity (about 5 megs) for Slingbox use. Slingbox is a hardware and software system that allows watching my TV (both live and previously DVR'd programs) over the internet in HD quality from anywhere. DSL usually can't get to much beyond 1 meg or so, that's not nearly enough. Also, cable (and fiber optic where available) can provide more down-link capacity than DSL, essential when you have a household of multiple users (kids) all trying to stream something video-related at the same time.

Still having this problem and am contemplating switching to Thunderbird.

Comcast is still working with me to try and resolve the problem but not sure if it's worth the effort.

I'd like to hear from Thunderbird users about any potential problems I should be aware of.

I used Thunderbird for years and really liked it, have not used it in quite a while though but think it is a very good option. I now just use web based email clients, just easier to me. I of course have comcast email addresses since I am with them but I have never used them.

Well, it appears it is an AOL problem after all. Comcast has been great about trying to resolve the problem and I should have a final solution by Thursday.

Of course, I guess I should either upgrade my email system or go with web based.
