Can't see top of the page

I have a new HP computer, Windows 7. It didn't come with a monitor, so I bought a new HP s2031 LCD, 20" monitor.

Hooked up and downloaded Mozilla Firefox, but you can't see the top of the page, like where the URL goes or the back button. The top of the page has "Most visited", "Getting Started" and "Latest Headlines". It is the same with IE. You can't see the space to type in a url or the back button.

The Firefox logo seems higher on the page than it should be.

How can I move it down? This is dragging me down...trying to figure out how to fix it.

I appreciate any help. thanks.

you need to read the info that is with the monitor and see what resolution settings it takes then you need to go into the settings properties in your windows 7 and change the resolution settings to match what your monitor requires. I looked up your monitor on the HP site and it states the native resolution should be set at 1600 X 900.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It was set at 1600 x 900 but I actually had to lower the resolution a little to get it to show up, but now it does. I was thinking that resolution was just for brightness and contrast.

the price paid for an advert .. is as much a donation to a wonderful website.. as it is a money making prospect ... frankly .. w/o the library ... many of the hosta sellers would need to spend thousands on revamping their own websites.. dont you think .. its not the brand new ones with all the hype.. its the older ones.. that make the backbone of a sellers inventory.. that you need references for ..... i doubt.. speculating.. that per hour working the site.. bob is not making boat payments.. dont ya think ... its the same at the national convention auctions.. paying wildly .. somewhat in the name of having a plant.. but also sponsoring a journal issue or two ... ken

Tell her to clear her internet cache. Is that like Start All Programs Accessories system tools disk clean up assuming she is Windows XP and using IE? Please remember, I am challenged and I'm not sure of her level of skill. I have not heard back yet. I wonder if she maybe totally crashed. Sue

Linked below are dozens of very good tutorials for Win 7. Take a look through. Some are worthwhile but others seem just fancy dickering but to each his own. Your page would scroll if it was longer.
