Can you visualize my bathroom without the blue/green glass tile accents? Except for that, it's very neutral.

If you're interested in white as a neutral, try to search acountryfarm's bath pix (work in progress, last I saw) -- she had some classic subway tiles with colorful-but-not-childish liners. Very sharp looking!

Your bathroom is gorgeous! The area with the pencil moldings and the glass tile is something like what I want to do in my half bath - it's really lovely.

Can you show a picture of the chandelier over your bathtub? I can just see the tail of it, and I'd love to see the whole thing!

monica...I just went back thru your photos and saw the last one which gives all the "who made what and what model" info. No need to answer my questions now. BTW, I like the tan walls with blue ceiling. I would never have thought of that. It looks wonderful!

sturdy, thank you! Hope it helped :) My color palette was inspired by the Caribbean beaches we've been to on our cruises.

My bathroom's not finished yet (though it's more finished than it seems in this picture). It's similar in color scheme to Monica's, though I used a travertine border instead of Monica's gorgeous aqua tile. I also wanted to keep it neutral so I could change color schemes with towels, etc.

I don't know if I'd do this kind of tan theme for a kids bathroom, though... I was going for a more sophisticated spa look. For kids, I might do white tile that I can dress up in primary colors when they're small, and you can still make it more sophisticated when they get older.

Here's my shower, before the bathroom was finished. It was neutral at the time. But I can't leave well enough alone, because I NEED COLOR!!! So the finished bathroom has sage walls and a green granite countertop. (But that probably reinforces the argument for neutral tile -- you can do whatever you want with the walls and accessories when you have a neutral background.)

I just love all the pictures of the neutral bathrooms and the tiles choices. I know I want to stay neutral when it is time to do my bathroom and I love the bigger tiles on the floor and the tiles on the wall.

We did a black and white bath for the kids. White walls with random black tiles and black border tiles. We did a funky design in the kids's shower with black tile. I did the floor in big white tiles with wide black grout lines. Their vanities are black with white carrara marble tops.

It's a cool look that they will not outgrow ... So, beige, neutral are not your only options.
