Which version of works is it? Looks like a later version, 4 maybe? One of my machines has version 2.0a, which sometimes runs into his issue with larger files. I can often get around it by one of the following: -making a minor mod and using Save As, then naming it something else and printing that. -examining the file location folder for temporary Works files and deleting them.

Thanks for all of the help! I have contacted Tech Support again. I was told that the 1GB of RAM that the Laptop came with is really not enough to run Windows Vista--even though it is industry standard to sell the PC that way. I was advised to upgrade to 2GB. I was told that Compaq would send me a shipping box and I could send the laptop for them to check over and restore it to original--But isn't that what I have already done 3 times? One problem is that there are only 2 slots and the RAM that is in there is 2-512s-so that means buying 2-1GBs. Tech support doesn't list anything larger than the 512s-so sending it in isn't an option for RAM. My second problem is that every web site I go on to find the right Memory for this PC, doesn't list the Compaq Presario C700. The sites that list the C700 don't list the NR Model-so I'm not sure what to buy. I can't use the Memory Scanner (located on some sites)-because when I try to log the laptop onto the internet I get the not responding error message way before I ever get this far. So... as soon as I can figure out what to buy I guess I'll opt to upgrade the Memory? Is this likely to fix my problem?? Any input is appreciated. Thanks again!!

Daisey just removing programs will not make your computer run faster unless the hard drive is over filled. To see how much free space is on your hard drive click Start then click My computer. A window will appear and you will see your hard drive listed with the total size and the amount of free space. For the computer to run efficiently you need 25% or more free space. This allows you 'swap file' to operate at it's peak. A few questions. What anti virus are you using? What anti spyware programs are you using and do you keep them up to date and run them every couple of weeks? What firewall are you using? What operating system are you using? How much memory does the computer have? To check how much memory click Start, click Control Panel, click System and right near the bottom of the new window you will see how much RAM is installed. To start improving things you could download and install Ccleaner which is linked below. Run without changing any settings. This will remove all the bits and pieces left behind over time and give you more hard drive space. Then you should do a defrag. To defrag the computer click Start, click All programs, slide up and click Accessories, slide over and down to click System Tools then click Disk defragmenter. Once there click to start the defrag, you can walk away for perhaps an hour now whie it does a clean up and tidies all the files. Can you print from other applications? If no, my first guess would be a corrupt printer driver. If you still have the install CD for this printer or can locate the appropriate driver on the mfr web site, you could try to uninstall the existing printer program(s) and then reinstall. If you can print from other apps, you should find and run a good memory tester. Google will give you several options. It may be that one or more of your memory chips is going bad. It also couldn't hurt to open the case and blow out the dust bunnies. You could also remove each chip and reinstall to be sure it is seated properly.
