Microwave Convections & Advantium Differences

Does anyone know the technology used for the different cooking modes of convection microwaves? I've been researching quite a bit and am still not clear on the details.

My understanding of the microwave/convection ovens is that you can generally use microwave, convection, or combine the two. Convection only mode seems to have long preheat times according to reviews.

Looking at Advantiums now, I like the full set of features including grilling. People seem to love them and the quality of the food. I'm not clear whether it uses microwaves for all of its modes or not. It does seem to indicate that preheating is not necessary. So I'm thinking it always utilizes microwave technology.

My reason for asking is because of the affect microwave cooking can have on depleting food nutrients (more than conventional) and potential food safety issues because it changes the food in some way when it cooks it. I was thinking of reducing my use of microwaves when cooking but want to move to convection.

I'll be using an OTR version.
