I wonder if anyone has noticed that not a single match has been made on this thread between a person with extra dirt and a person who needs it who are both close to each other. Not surprising. I suggest using your local Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. or the matching sites linked in this thread.

Cherry pitter, now I am back in the UK, I can access a mad amount of wild plums on the highways and byways, they are tiny look like cherrys, but lush to eat. Kicking myself I didn't buy more jars in the US, brought lots of lids but struggling with jars at the mo, kerr jars in the UK for 12 are around $50 and lids about $12 which is just taking the michael...not impressed! other than that I got my self setup in the US, I have 2 pressure canners, I forgot to buy the rubber replacement bits before I left but they are the type of light weight item when family and friends visiting the US, I ask them to bring back. ummmm what do I want....my lovely kitchen I had in the US and this will crack you all up, my house in connecticut is cheeper in price to buy than the house we are renting in the UK and my kitchen in the US footprint is 2/3 in size of our entire house in the UK, and we had family room, dining rm, living room, office room.... I don't need some of that stuff but I would KILL to have my old kitchen back :)

I would put it in the 1960s, 1970s style that is now sometimes grouped in with Hollywood Regency,--it has a mid-Century look with some vague Renaissance Revival style.

Like others who have posted, I created a Word document listing every cabinet with its drawers and shelves, and I assigned what items would inhabit those spaces when we move back into our new kitchen. I even drew diagrams of how things would sit on the shelves in order to use vertical space most efficiently. Because our new cabinets are taller, I also indicated where I'd like extra shelves (to be cut out of salvaged shelf material from our old kitchen) to be installed. So I don't think I've got anything new to contribute there. But here is a related vow I made to myself: To stop using the kitchen as a warehouse. DH and I cleaned out our garage and attached storeroom, and we have made space for storing those humungous quantities of household supplies that we can't resist at Costco. From now on, only ONE of each item will live in the kitchen; the remainder will live on shelves and in drawers in the garage and storeroom. So when it comes time to change the paper towel or waxed paper rolls or to replenish the sandwich bag supply, yes, we'll have to go downstairs and get another one. But our kitchen will no longer be a warehouse.
