You will also see many websites condoning use of MSconfig and teaching you how to use it for controlling startups. This is a very bad idea for many reasons. 1. MSconfig was designed to be used only as a temporary debugging/troubleshooting tool. It was not meant to be used for long term solutions. 2. MSconfig does not show all startups anyway. 3. If you uninstall programs while they are being disabled with MSconfig, they will not be uninstall properly and you will have to resort to manual registry editing to properly get everything removed. MSconfig will leave orphan entries if/when installed software is uninstalled while under the control of MSconfig . When/if MSconfig is turned back to normal startup, it will give errors on boot due to those orphan entries. 4. MSconfig and Services: o If you uninstall programs while you have some of the programs services being controlled with MSconfig, the programs will not be uninstall properly and you will have to resort to manual registry editing to get everything properly removed. o When you uncheck a service in msconfig, you completely disable it. If you uncheck the wrong one, you may not be able to restart your computer. o It is safer to control services by using Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services (this runs services.msc). 5. You can lock malware items into your registry that you may not see anymore until some point in time where you switch back to Normal Startup mode and now you can cause total reinfection of your PC with the malware. You need to remove the malware not mask it. Question: You keep records for 8 teams and none have parents that are sufficiently familiar with Excel to help set up the process? Okay, next: I suggest striking up conversations with local Lifelong Learning College teachers who teach Excel in evening classes. In my area, a couple hundred miles north of you, many of these teachers are retirees and usually are more than willing to get you started, and perhaps will set up a template for you. The basic evening courses here are but a couple of nights that give a rundown of spreadsheet basics that include formulas. It is probably not necessary for you to become a formula expert, just enough to understand a few of them. Take a two-day course and get to know the instructor for the additional assistance you may need.

I use Quick books. I'm not very proficient though. I'm sure there are many things I don't know how to do, but I know enough to get by. I've been using it for a couple years so maybe I can help you out if you have a question.

I converted all my Quicken files but it doesn't convert all the categories I had set up in Quicken and I have to re-designate every payee, for years and years, to either a vendor or customer or employee and I have to figure out how to differentiate payments made to Scott over the years from "legal fees" "client costs" "loan to business account" and "wages" and I can't figure out how to get the transaction report to sub-total by category (that I can't even figure out how to set up yet) I've printed out and read so darn many "help" pages that I'm going cross-eyed. I'm just a mess. I know if I get away from it for awhile I'll be able to think more clearly.
