Need help with Microsoft Word

I have Micro. word 2003. I have saved mailing labels to use every year to mail out while adding new ones each year.I use the Avery Product for labels. I want to know is there anyway I can get these names and addresses in alphabetical order, so I don't send out duplicate flyers with these labels? Regards, P.K. in Louisiana

You didnÂt say how many names/addresses and IÂm assuming theyÂre in the form of a word document but if itÂs not too many, I would copy and past them into an Excel worksheet and then sort them alphabetically.

MS Office 2000 (which includes Word) works perfectly with XP. Since the behaviour occurs on the new computer as well as your original one I did a Google search and found numerous reports of this problem. Could it be that Word is trying to connect to your network? Had the problem only existed on your own computer then my first suggestion would have been: Assuming that you have the Word installation CD available (just in case it is needed), then I would start by opening Word, click on Help and then click Detect and Repair from the drop down menu. Don't go this route if the CD isn't handy otherwise Word might stop working completely until you find it. Here is a link that might be useful: Some Google links to solve Word problems

Bestlawn! I could have asked you over on KT! I had two lines; one I managed to delete, but I've fumbled around so much I cannot remember what I did! Yes, I think the enter/return is what seems to trigger it. When I try to select the line, a thin vertical highlight strip appears on the left above, through, and below the line, but it will not delete. I've spent the last 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out, searching "help." But it's no big problem, I can scroll it down to the blank page and not print that page. And now that I know how to draw lines w/o triggering the other line, I'll be ok. I suppose 2007 is ok when one gets used to it, but it sure takes up a lot of time getting to that point. It has a default of 1.5 spacing, which is not that good for me. Thanks...you're the "best!"

I've always made 2 documents in landscape, one for each side of the card, and used a 2 cell table to divide it. Then I just print one document, turn the paper (be careful here), and print the other document on the other side. I have no idea of how to do it any other way.

thanks for the replys, I received a reply over at MS, but I think it would take a Chinese to understand the solution. If I copy over to excel,and get them in order how do I get them back on the word program to print the avery labels? Regards, PK in La.

Have a look on the Avery site. They sent me an email advert recently and it referred specifically to free templates / instructions to transfer names and addresses from Excel into Word for mail merge / printing.
