Comments (1)You can install a small plastic or metal shut off valve between the shower nozzle and pipe to stop the water as shown in the link. Should be available at Lowe's, WalMart, etc. The water comes out of the shower head when you don't want it because the diverter valves on the newer spouts are smaller and that impedes water flow more and sends some of it up to the shower head even when it isn't selected. Here is a link that might be useful: Shower head shut off valve...See MoreHelp! new Kohler Underscore BubbleMassage tub came leaking twice :(
Comments (31)I just had the same issue with my Kohler underscore. We just set the tub and filled it with water and shortly I saw a slow leak start in the rear or the tub somewhere around the rear support leg. We got ours from Wayfair and when I called they said that they are sending a replacement. I sure hope I don't have the same problem again like you had. Framing was just done to work with this tub and we don't have many options....See MoreHelp me pick a shower head system and freestanding bathtub
Comments (2)Brizo is the more expensive line manufactured by Delta. I think the real difference would be in the styles offered as I found when selecting my shower fixtures that it was style and finish that was the differentiation. Delta makes high quality stuff - think of it as Honda versus Lexus :-) I am in California so shower fixtures are limited in flow. I wouldn't be surprised if brands were making all fixtures California compliant rather than manufacturing separate just for the California market. Do you have room for a free standing tub? They are nice when they are situated in a very large bathroom with room all around so they are freestanding but not very functional (at least to me) when they are set against a wall or walls since one then has to clean around limited spaces....See MoreMaster bath Tub or no tub
Comments (9)The overwhelming majority of demographics for your complex would prefer a great shower versus a mediocre tub/shower. Aging people who want to age in place need a shower - and as large as possible because stepping over a tub becomes increasingly problematic. Design with both function (bench and as many grab bars as possible to be reachable anywhere in the shower). While many older people are nimble up to a certain point, there are also periods when they might not be able to bathe and among my senior friends many have given up baths even if they previously enjoyed them because of difficulty of getting up from the tub. While you might lose a buyer who absolutely demands a tub in the master, the greater number will appreciate a great shower. And, if someone really wants a tub experience as critical, chances are they would prefer a larger soaking experience versus a tub/shower combo which doesn't provide the best experience for bathing or showering....See Moredreamywhite
