Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchenaid oven? They all seem the same!
Comments (2)The upper Kitchenaid microwave oven should have the convection and/or steam cooking option. Plus the microwave can brown and crisp foods. Bottom line this gives you 2 convection ovens. I use my upper convection microwave often for small casseroles, pizzas instead of heating up the large oven. Both ovens work really well. The controls and elements have 5 year warranty. Comments (10)I have the Whirlpool GU2475XTVY and have been very pleased with it. I went through the usual process of looking at every model under the sun before selecting the one that I did. My requirements was a stainless steel exterior with integrated controls. Several fit that bill, but only the Whirlpool did so at a far lower price, plus gave me options I really wanted such as a cutlery rack that can go on the door or on the rack, and hold down clips for plastic items so they donÂt flip over. Biggest plus is that the steam vent is located on the front rather than on the top edge, so no blasting the underside of the counter with steam. For me that was essential, since I have ceramic tile countertops with a wood edge. The vent is small and does not (to my eye) detract from the aesthetics of a clean, uniform front. Cleaning performance is great. Everything comes out spotless, with no pre-rinsing. The only downside is that it is not the quietest out there. Not at all objectionable, but a few more decibels than the Bosch or KA....See MoreDecontented - Kitchenaid French Door No Ice/Water in Door
Comments (3)We have a Kenmore Elite badged Samsung fridge and love it. We needed a CD model, and at the time they didn't make the FD in CD so ours is a SxS. My grandparents have the FD full depth Samsung fridge with the dual freezer drawers. We have had 0 problems with our fridges and are very pleased with our purchase. Remember as you're reading reviews, that usually more people take the time to write negative reviews of products than people who are happy with their purchase. It's a way venting their frustration. Not to say that people who are happy with their purchase don't post reviews, just that unhappy people are more likely to post them. I would keep that in mind as you're reading reviews online. I did a little research for you on the KA FD freezer drawers. It looks like they do offer the solid freezer drawers on the following model that includes your other specs. However, you lose some space as it's 19.6cuft vs the 24.8cuft you listed above (it's 30" wide vs. 36" wide). KitchenAid Architect Series II KFFS20EY These two models offer mats in the bottom of the wire freezer baskets- KitchenAid Proline Series KFCP22EXMP KitchenAid Architect Series II KFCS22EVMS How important is the water dispenser to you? If you can live without it, you may want to consider this FD fridge from LG: LG LFC25765 So it sounds like your choices are: - Go with Samsung and get everything you want. On the off chance you need a repair you may have a delay. -Go with a KA model with wire shelves in the freezer -Go with the smaller KA fridge to get the solid shelves in the freezer, but sacrifice storage space -Go with a KA model with in the door ice/water to get the solid freezer shelves without having to sacrifice space -Go with a fridge like the LG to get the solid freezer shelves, but sacrifice the internal water dispenser Hope this helps!...See MoreKitchenaid cooktop, GE Monogram or Whirlpool fridge & oven
Comments (3)I have a Kitchenaid 5 burner gas (not propane) stainless with a downdraft. Only problem with the cooktop: right after we got it my husband made a big batch of bean soup in one of those big tin roasters like your Mom used and set it over two burners. The iron grate got too hot and melted the rubber tips on the feet which keep it from scratching the cook top. Kitchenaid sent us a new one right away. Great service. The cooktop works pretty well for the price range but no comparison to a Viking gas stove I used to have once upon a time, but for the price it's pretty good. Better than the Jennair that I had yanked out, that's for sure. I would stay completely away from that one!!! As for the "downdraft" ....ugg...this is my third downdraft (various brands) and in my opinion there isn't a downdraft that works. May as well not even have one. They're #1: filthy and impossible to clean, and can get "stinky", #2: If you are using anything taller than a skillet everything goes right over the top of the downdraft and right into the house, #3: the only time they do slightly pull anything out is when you cook on the very back burner. You will still know you fried fish though, if you catch my drift! :) #4: if you are using a skillet on one of the front burners it goes right over the top of the downdraft and into the house. YOU CAN SEE IT! The solution: an overhead unit that pulls up and outside, which means you have to have overhead electric over your cook top, and venting as well. $$$$$$ Unfortunately I can't do that in my existing kitchen but believe me if I ever remodel I would get a setup that allowed for the overhead kind vented to the outside of the house. The ceiling in my kitchen is covered with grunge because DOWNDRAFTS DON'T WORK....See Morechac_mool
