Christmas Day update onLee

Max called me this morning with more wonderful news. Lee is doing amazing well. She still has the ventilator in but Max said they he expects it to be removed today or tomorrow and then Lee will be moved out of ICU. Lee is sitting up and although she can't speak yet because of the tubes she is carrying on conversations in writing.

What better Christmas gift than Lee getting better.

Hi Bill, Merry Christmas!!! Thank you for the great pics of your yard!!! Looks like winter has settled in CA, but your collection still looks good to me!!! Psycho will always be the "grand champion.." This is one strong variety that keeps on giving... Kimi still has a beautiful color as well as the Smyths Candy Stripe. Mele Pa Bowman is a beauty too! Psycho still has 60+... That is one tree that will forever bloom for you!!! I can see the start of the leaf drop. They still look good though! The "young pit" looks very healthy and looks like you still have many young ones growing. The hedge still looks good to me as well as those back yard shots. The backyard shots look like they are keeping the leaves more so than the hedge? Thanks for the pictures. We all like to see your yard with all of the beautiful Plumeria. The Plumies that i have in the backroom are finally at rest. (30+) The ones that i have growing under lights (25+) are still with leaves, but have shed some here and there. Spider mites have been a small problem, But I have been spraying them and now seem to have them under control. Im so glad that the days are getting longer, spring will be here soon and we can all enjoy another season of beautiful blooms and new cuttings to root!!! Great boxes sent and received this month. I guess we are skipping August? What does everyone think? I believe I am hosting September. Sorry to hear Sue is sick. Hope she comes back soon. Wonder what happened to (arizona) Sue. Vina, absolutely everything you sent to me is so appreciated. Between the ungodly heat and the extreme rain, my stuff is still soaking. i am going to do my best to at least get them in temporary spots as i have so much stuff to divide and move. what i would really like is new property to go plant on - that would be the best thing!!!! Now that the holidays are over I am continuing counseling. I am going to do some work on trying to repress memories and experiences. We have also made the decision to have Rhiannon go to counseling, with the family changes and brother stresses it is affecting her behavivor.I am not sure if there has been abuse but that will also be addressed. Since my brother is still drinking *Friday drunken fight* but now is no longer drinking. I don't feel that I can trust his decision making ability and take that chance with my kids or family. The sad thing is my family is blaming me for his drinking and bringing up all the issues, they would prefer to keep them dirty little secrets which isn't okay with me. So keep your thouhts on me and I will keep my knockers up:) Stacie

Annegriet, what is ”Little Christmas”? Our Thanksgiving-December was so complicated, we put out minimal holiday decor, and it was kind of nice. Although I miss the lights on the arch leading to our woods. Next year I must put them up. This year I both accumulated and shed. I took what I wanted from my late mother’s, and the rest sold well in the estate sale. Did I need more? No! I don’t think I have room to store or to display, so I really need to narrow down. All my garlands are from the local FB groups so I can easily rehome them. I don’t put out the same things every year, so I like that my collection allows me to ”theme” in many different ways. (and not in a Pinterest way, just a ”bpath” way) The other day I took down my Santas from the mantle. Sometimes I have reindeer there, but this year the reindeer have come out for the winter mantle. I took the ornaments off the tree today, but the lights are still on, and turned on. It’s so pretty! We will probably take the lights off on Sunday and take the tree to the local ”farm” for the camel. Arcy, our rummage sales and thrift stores are for everyone, and there is something at every price point, as well.

Well, here's my "conversation" for Lee in writing:

Merry Chirstmas and Get Well Soon. We miss you on here. When you are feeling better, I'll meet you in Denver and we'll celebrate with a late "Christmas Dinner" at that wonderful, little French restaurant --- I'm craving some good mussels.

Lee, be prepared for the removal of the ventilator. It is strange and a bit frightening for a moment to be breathing on your own.

That is great news! I am a bit disheartened that they haven't removed the ventilator yet, but glad to hear that will happen soon. I hope they keep a close monitor on her once it is removed. Being in ICU is not always a bad thing. Usually the best place for top-notch care. My prayers and best wishes for fast recovery for the family continue.

She really has had a bad ride, thank goodness she is making such great progress. Hopefully , as I type, that damn thing is out and she is resting comfortably in a new room.
