Spiderman and The Princess

OK, Karen started it. These are my "scary" trick or treaters. Actually it was kind of scary, Bruvver would not stop pulling off the Princess' veil and I thought she was gonna give him a whuppin', which would not be good for a SuperHero.

The Princess has had a cold for a while, and so she snuggled under a blanket and checked out her goodies while Spiderman visited the neighbors:

They are both so cute and you can't see a bit of mischief in Spiderman's eyes. I had a few Spidermen and Princess's at my house last night.

Those are some funky-looking freaks of nature there. Then you followed it up with such beauties its kinda like watching 'Beauty and the Beast'. Not that the freaks were ugly, just odd. I don't know where to start because you showed us so many beauties. But of course Golly Galore has to be my favorite because now it grows here, thanks to you! (Not seeing any scapes just yet....isn't it a late?). Then on to the others which are all ravishing. I like the bright colors on Cinco de Mayo and that photo of Orchid Majesty is ravishing. I've always loved Spiderman and your Candy Club lily is gorgeous. And don't you just LOVE Conca d'Or? It is my favorite of all my lilies. Love the color, the texture and the fragrance and it seems like the blooms hold up a long time. I rrrrreally, really enjoyed your pictures! Celeste

I hope I have this right Crintonic Gardens? What's up with all the Hansons? That has confused me since day 1 & now will have that locked in my ol' brain forever now. Curt Hanson is the 1 I want. Holy toledo! I just got done looking at C. Hanson's intros & instantly found @ 10 I would buy instantly. Too bad I can't afford much more at this point. I did read a post here on a lady that was going to that nursery & it should have registered, but it didn't. My taste seems to be just a bit different than most here, so I won't bore you with the 1's I like. But I do have to ask what the terminology is for the look of the '08 intro Catch A Wave. Reading the description on their PDF file is really blurry & can't make it out. I really like the look of the reversed pinch? Rita, there is no offese taken on any advice you have ever given me & I really appreciate your help. Everything you say makes perfect sense to me. I personally would go for all dormants if I could. I'm not real wild on looking at ratty foliage come spring. It seems that it might be something I need to tolerate until the season gets going. I am definitely taking your advice & only buying 2 more for the year. I really am anxious to see how these all pan out next spring to see if I can deal with the evergreens. As far as the bud count goes, I plan on potting them instead of growing them in the ground. Hopefully that will make some difference. This is the 1st situation EVER that I am willing to pamper something & overwinter it.

Kevin is in the red shirt, and he was 16 when that photo was taken. Our sister had a perm at the time, which she only had for a short time. Di, I have been blond at times - I was very blond as a child, and then when I turned 50 I decided to go back to blond, as my natural color by then was very close to platinum blond, and it was easy to keep up. I stopped dying my hair a few years ago, but I used to dye it much darker in the 1980s, sort of in keeping with that decade. It was close to a natural color in that photo, however. I think a photo of you in a bikini on a tractor sounds very interesting... It does not sound crazy to me at all. Lars

Granolamom, I respect your house, your way. But when the kids have so much fun with bedding that expresses their current passion for things, or makes the room feel like their own, why is that such a bad thing to you? They are little for only a short time. My younger son was wild about construction vehicles (I have NO idea why)and particularly 'the mighty loader' as we all called it. He had bedding that had trucks and cars on it, and LOVED it - in fact, at 20 he still has the tissue box cover on his nightstand, despite having moved on long ago from 'the mighty loader' passion. He keeps it as a fond memory of that room decor - I think it says home and his space to him, even after being away at university. I guess my point is that it is their room. Just as you choose sheets and bedding that speak to you in your space, shouldn't they have the same opportunity? Besides, just wait until they are 10 or 12 and up and want posters and other decor that fits their interests! LOL

This is going to sound strange, but she has the most elegant hands for a child. I envy those long, tapered fingers.

They are some of the cutest kids! Great costumes!

They are so cute and growing so fast. Add my wishes that Makala is feeling better too.

Do the dentists in your area buy back candy the way they do here? They pay the kids a dollar a pound and then send the candy to our troops.

I luv Halloween, too! Is so much fun! Wow!!! I know they groowww but Bud lost his baby....so handsome and wow - does the female side of your family have a strong gene or what? She look just like you. What a beautiful face.

They are darlings! I love the contrast in costume choices. I agree with Bean, Princess has lovely hands.

(Alice could always whup Daniel, too! Mostly because Daniel is a sweetie pie and wouldn't fight back.)

No, I really wish the only dentist in town bought candy, but he doesn't. He does, however, hand out free toothbrushes on Halloween!

Makayla does look a lot like Ashley, who looks a lot like me. I guess we do have a strong gene going there, because I look just like my mother's baby pictures, although people are always telling me that I look like Dad.

Actually, they get along pretty well, except Bud just CANNOT leave his sister alone. If she's not playing with him or talking to him or paying attention to him, he's going to do something disruptive. If anyone is paying attention to his sister, he wants them to pay attention to him instead. Not both of them, just him.

Dad used to tell me that he was going to hurt her but I told him that she was always going to be faster and always going to be one step ahead and so far she is.
