Whiplash

That's what the ER docs said I have.

On my way to work this afternoon a woman ran a red light and hit my car, spun me around 180 degrees, broke my rear axle and tore off my rear quarter panel on the driver's side.

I hit my head on the side window, but it didn't seem like I hit very hard. Apparently it doesn't take much.

The state trooper showed up, took a statement from each of us and called a tow for my now "undriveable" car. I felt okay, just a slight headache. Then he told me that she says she has insurance but could provide no proof, and she lives in a motel in a nearby town.

OMG...within a few minutes my head was throbbing and I felt like I was going to hurl. The trooper gave me a ride to work, told me he was giving her a ticket if she didn't call him and me with proof of insurance by noon tomorrow.

I felt so ill I spent the next 3 hours in the ER, my blood pressure was 167/110, was told I had whiplash, got a shot in the butt and a couple of prescriptions for muscle relaxers and pain meds.

Headache has subsided, BP is back down but I am so angry that this woman, if she in fact does NOT have insurance, gets off with just a ticket and a broken blinker, while I have to foot the bill for a new car, a missed day of work, plus the ER visit! I only carry liability on my 1997 Rav.

What a sucky Friday!

Linda
