OMG --- This forum is amazing...guess where I am?

I AM HOME. Woke up with a rate of 96 and only went down to 88 and I quickly cured that.

I cannot express in adequate words to each and everyone of you how much I appreciate your support, prayers and words of encouragement, but I really do thank you -- the power of this forum is truly amazing --- I had alot of prayers and support behind me from the beginning, but it wasn't until Karen kindly posted a request on my behalf tht the rate started going up steadily. Thank you so much, Karen for posting and all of the prayes, support. Dr. said six months before full recovery, which sould be just the right time for Chase's Route 66.

We will be waiting for the police report to see who was at fault...I had a green arrow to make a left-hand turn and the truck hit me as I was making the turn. So, either the truck ran the light or the lights malfunctioned, which I had ranted about several months ago and I had thought they were fixed. News crews showed up and I kept screaming I wanted to talk to them to get somebody to fixed the lights. I couldn't understan d why my daughter or dh wouldn't do it, until I was told later that they had already cut all of my clothes off. So underwear, they disappeard quickly. How the heck the hospital can prepare totally different dishes and theyt all smell exactly the same.

I'm out for this year due to the drought here in the Southeast. I am just a small backyard grower that sells at a tiny farmers market in a neighboring city. I mostly grow stuff that does well for me in my yard, a lot of ornamentals, some herbs, veggie starts, a pretty big mix because the customer's tastes change throughout the season. The drought and high heat really did a number on me last summer and this summer is predicted to be worse, much worse. Now they have very tight watering restrictions in place to save as much water as possible for drinking ($1000 fine the first time you're caught using public water to water your garden, water shut off the second time!!!!!). They now measure the amount of available water in days rather than months. Needless to say, most people are not buying plants. Many local nurseries and growers have gone out of business. Some of them lost everything including their land and homes in the process. It is a sad sad situation. I can keep the stock I have now alive by hauling water up from a creek til it goes dry. I can spend the year making adjustments to my display and building more birdhouses (reliable sellers). In other words, get my act together. But selling doesn't look good until it rains enough to lift these restrictions. With gas getting more expensive, the economy tanking, it does look like a tough ride this next summer but I believe I will be perfectly situated to jump in once things turn around - I may have no competition when that day comes.

Some of the first forums I found were almost 20 years ago when our house was new. The ones I found and connected with were iVillage and here, mostly about garden design and planning, bluebird nest box monitoring, and ponding. I was turning a lot of bare ground into mostly shrub and perennial gardens and found a lot of useful info. I didn’t know anything about bluebird nest habitats and found a wealth of knowledgeable people on that forum. Ponds not so much, as there were many who already had beautiful established ponds and were happy to show them off. A handful of people had advice but it was always scattered. There were a couple of others I visited on occasion but they seem to be gone. I don’t recall how I found my way over here, maybe through baths and kitchens, but likely because I needed decorating help. I also found a gardening site which is still around but requires a paid subscription. I literally met some people from my area when we met at a garden show a couple of times and also had a get together a couple of hours from my home. We communicated a lot and some of us still do on FB, although we have dropped our subscriptions. The website also was bought out and isn’t quite the same. I joined NextDoor and it is fairly active in our rural area now. And I also have been a sometimes contributor on Trip Advisor for quite a while. I always go there to look at reviews anyway when we plan a vacation. I’m not religious about writing stuff but do when something stands out.

Thanks, all. Bea, I read the link and will be more cautious. I was bitten about 6 yrs ago and am very cognizant of ant mounds. However, I was chatting with my neighbor while I was digging a hole and busy talking to him at the same time. I wasn't paying attention but I did not notice a ant mound. Might have been there but I really didn't see it. My flower beds are cleared of weeds and I have one section where I grow Milkweed. If I remember 6 yrs ago, the mound was in the same bed but I was attacked big time. They ran up my legs and I had so many bites. I remember trying to pull my clothes off out front of the house and really didn't care if any neighbors saw me! Jstropic, you made me think about this. I really did not see any ants. I felt my feet stinging and my ankles swelling and I ran for the house. I kicked my flip flops off and my clothes and jumped in the shower. While I was in the shower, I looked and didn't see any ants, but my feet/ankles were so swollen. After getting out I noticed these large blisters forming, like burn blisters. I thought that was odd as I didn't remember that from 6 yrs ago. I did put ice on the areas and some cortisone cream. My feet and ankles were so sore. After I got my wits back, I went outside to get my flip flops and looked at them carefully and found one ant which appeared to be biting the bottom of the flip flop. Weird, but that cinched it for me. It was ants. I looked up Nettles and it is possible that is growing in the area. I have a weed lawn! Its green and that's fine. I'm afraid to go out to the area where I was, to look. From what I read on-line, it says the nettle stings get better in a day. My feet are still full of these pimples and hurt. I have gotten a shoe on but it is not comfortable. From what I read on-line, you should not break those blisters. I read medical websites and they say the blisters protect the venom from entering the blood stream. They make a strong statement about that. They say to let the blisters dry up on their own. The only treatment is ice, cortisone type cream (patted on to not break the blisters), and time. They say not to cover the blisters with a shoe or sock to prevent the blisters from breaking. Soooo, I'm surviving and am thinking of hiring someone to look for those 'suckers.' I'm afraid to go back there. But, my pots of Milkweed are still sitting there without getting planted. I'm ready to go back to New York!

You all are the best! I appreciate your thoughts and good wishes, and concerns for my undies...lol.

Got a copy of police report today and there were no charges filed. The truck driver's statement and the other lone witness statement are both crap, holes that even I can poke through...on drugs...lol. I am trying to find video of the intersection and have found some (google earth) which show my intersection with a green left turn light while a yellow light was still on for the oncoming traffic lane which hit me. I think I'll set this one out and let the attorneys fight it out. But, if anyone knows of any good websites that show traffic and the process of lights changing, I would greatly appreciate it..... lol.

First, I'm glad to hear that your back home and on the road to recovery. NO more of that nasty hospital food. Sorry to hear about the police report, that doesn't sound right if you had the green arrrow. I'm not touching the undie isssue....lol!
