Be extremely careful deleting duplicate files with any program.
I read stories of people doing this with EasyCleaner and end up having to format their harddrive and reinstall the operating system.
Take a close look at the so called duplicates that ToniArts EasyCleaner finds, in reality all the files listed are not duplicates.
Below is just a short example of so called duplicates.
Notice each file is different and they expect you to check them and delete. Not me, no way, I want my programs to work.
That's why they warn you to save in the recycle bin in case something doesn't work, but how often do you check all your programs before you empty the recycle bin.

Rose, I used to use EasyCleaner (but no more) and I never used that part of it as I had read of problems with it. You certainly have a large HDD, and so, what if you have a few duplicate files? Better to be cautious than sorry, IMHO.

I would uninstall Easy Cleaner and download and install either CCleaner or Advanced Windows Care. I have and use both of them.

I am now really worried because I have been using the EasyCleaner Duplicate files, for I would guess, at least a year. You can be sure that I will no longer use it and probably will now REMOVE the program from my computer.

See what happens when one doesn't faithfully visit the computer forums?? They miss learning what others have already learned!!

I do have CCleaner and have used it; but, was always concerned that it too could do "too good of a job" in cleaning up ones computer.

Grandms, I am not familiar with Advanced Windows Care. Have you been using it long?

I have been using AWC about a year and others I know use it also. I think I first heard of it on the Lockergnome daily newsletter that I receive. Then a friend said her computer tech put it on her computer. It checks for a number of different things. After you scan you can choose to have it fix everything it finds, or you can click on each item and fix only certain items, your choice. Download the free version.

I use EasyCleaner for Clear Cookies, Clear History, MRU, Clear Files, sometimes Registry, and my computer especially likes Unnecessary for some reason, my mouse just flies super fast after selecting all and deleting the Unnecessary.

It's just Duplicates I stay away from.

I also use Advanced Windows Care, thanks grandms, I started running a scan now.
