Let's clarify something -- the freeze happens when you try to download a .pdf file from an email or the internet, right? Not when trying to open one that is already on your computer? If that's the case, how long have you waited before deciding the computer is frozen? I've downloaded a few large .pdf files that have taken a LONG time even though I have a high speed satellite connection. As soon as I click to download, the computer just sits there and nothing else happens till the whole thing has downloaded, sometimes several minutes if there are a couple hundred pages. Once they're saved on my computer, they open instantly no matter how large the file. Is there any chance you're experiencing the same situation but not waiting long enough?

I don't know why you're getting that message. You don't need to buy Adobe Acrobat to read a PDF document. You can just download the free Adobe Reader. The versions of Adobe Acrobat that you have to pay for are for those who want to create fancy PDF documents. Also, there are many other free PDF readers available. The one I prefer and use is Foxit Reader, which would works at least as well as Adobe Reader and has a program only about 1/10 the size. Here is a link that might be useful: Foxit

Jodi..that didn't work with these files. Not sure why..but I made the picture smaller so it would fit the screen and did a Print Screen. Then opened them in my photo editing program and saved them as JPG's! Thanks
