Snapzip appears to be a file compression program. Why would you be using that to download the program you are looking for? Have you tried a straight download without using Snapzip? If so what happens?

You could give us the address of the site where you wish to download the pattern from perhaps.

Did you really mean "download it through Snapzip"...or did you mean "I tried to unzip the file using Snapzip after downloading it"? Understanding what you are trying to do here makes a BIG difference.

That's a huge file, I would hope it's in a zip format, and you're going to use snapzip to open it once you get it downloaded. If the download from the web site is pausing and flagging an error it may be a web site having a problem, or your internet connection could be an issue too! It's even possible your security software is causing an issue.

If you have tried downloading this 4 or 5 times and have never been successful getting the file to the desktop then no it's not taking up any space then.

What I would try last is to boot the computer to safemode with networking navigate back to the pattern download and download that way and see what happens.

I also have a lot of other small files on my downloads.

Those are generally installers or setup files from the programs you installed. Some people keep them depending on the program. I don't keep them and you don't have to either.

Since you paid for this pattern can you contact the web site or person who sold it. Wonder if you could get in on a disk or something.

Thank you for your information. When it starts downloading it says"Cable Clip Snapzip". As it is running it shows show many MB of 502MB. Even if it got downloaded in a Zip format, would I be able to open it after?

I can see this is definitely a problem and maybe I can get the pattern mailed to me. I went into my downloads and deleted some duplicate files, etc.

Do you delete the partial download each time it fails? If so then don't and try connecting again and the file should automatically continue the download from the last stop

If you were to provide the download site we might see something of use to help you.

I am trying the download again today under "Save file". It seems to be going so far. If it stops I will restart it again and see if it continues.

This is a zip file from Interweave Called Cable_Knit.zip. Zinio submits the downloads for Interweave. I have sent them a request and it has been logged so if I don't get this through they will probably help me.

I got 2 of the zip files open but there is a third file which is an MP4 file. I think this is a DVD program. I went back to where I bought it and what I read is a DVD workshop to go with the patterns. Can I play a DVD on my computer? If so what do I need to have installed?

You people explain things so well that it is quite easy to follow your directions.

Your computer should be able to play a DVD (Digital Video Disk.) Usually when you put a DVD in the computer a player pops up like Windows Media player, or VLC player and will play the disk. Is it possible you could borrow a DVD one with a movie on it or something and try it. I just bought a movie for $8.00 at wall mart.

I have my Windows Media player running. When I play the MP4 file through it all I get is the voice - no picture.

That file has no video then, just audio as far as I know.

Yes try it nothing to loose, just download it to the desktop for now, when it finishes just double click and see if windows media player attempts to play it. Let us know.

At some point it's also possible you may need to install / download-----> K-Lite Codec Pack... If you have any issues playing DVD'S. That's why I wanted you to try a known good DVD, just to see if it plays, if it does then you would more then likely not need to install the K-Lite Codec Pack

With the K-Lite Codec Pack you should be able to play all the popular audio and video formats and even several less common formats.

Just click on the words Download Latest Version in blue,over on the right side of the page and download it.

I downloaded the K-Lite Pack you suggested. I went back to my email download where they referred to this Zino which is a company that manages magazine subscriptions. They had a free one so I thought I would take it. I had to enter my email and a password. I viewed the book and when I went back to my media player, there she was in full view talking up a storm on instructions. Don't know what the magic was but happy to have this resolved.
