I have Yahoo, as well. I didn't know about the change but have been increasingly dissatisfied with it. I don't know. I'll have to think about what else might work for me, although my usual email is Yahoo so it helps to open there.

I was going to change to gmail but I have would have to change my address in so many places. The Yahoo ads are particularly obnoxious -- not just the quantity but the actual ads. I am so tired of looking at pictures of women who suddenly get wrinkles and cellulite thighs. I wonder why they think I need ads like that??

Google here too, and have been very happy with it!

Msnbc. I'm happy with it.

At home I use CNN, but I'm not thrilled with their new look either. At work I use the school website. What I really like is the Mozilla "most visited" sites header bar, where I place the CF, work email, Facebook, and local news. In this bar I also have a Google search window, so I don't have to set Google as my homepage. Mozilla also has an option for a daily weather display which used to be spot on, but now they use a program called "Weather Bug" and frankly, it sucks! It's usually wrong, especially with longer-range forecasting.
While I don't use Yahoo as a homepage, I do use it for good local news and an adjunct email. Sorry to hear they're going to "mess with it"!

I use Yahoo too, and I'm not happy with the changes either. I don't know what I'll switch to, never use Google for anything, so it probably won't be that.

I don't use a homepage. When I open Firefox I'm faced with a blank page, but my desktop is covered with links so I usually click directly on the link I want without passing through a homepage.

I'm starting to use Bing more and more instead of Google. I love the picture on their page, although it always lures me away from the original reason I went there.

I use Google, too. My e-mail is thru Yahoo, but I have no need to use that as my home page. I Google all kinda of stuff, so Google works best for me.

I had the CF for a short time, but it really wasn't a logical choice, so I switched back to Google.

Thanks everyone! After reading the suggestions and poking around on and off today, I think I will probably end up with google.

LOL I had to open an new session to check! It's a Dell/Google page full of links and graphics for both. I should probably change it to plain old google. That's about the fastest page to come up.

I wouldn't mind a blank page like Sharon except that doesn't tell me if I'm connected. I have connectivity problems several times a day where I have to reset my router and/or modem and start new sessions, so I like a real page to pop up to tell me I'm ok.

I'm set up to open to a blank page.

Foodonastump, If I don't have a connection, I get a error messge telling me that there is a connection problem. Otherwise, just a clean white page. :) That's on IE. I don't know what Firefox or one of the others would do.

With Firefox when there is an interruption in the connection such as the rotor plug being unplugged, there's a little notice at the bottom right corner of the screen at the icon of the two tiny gray computer screens, in the blue bottom Windows taskbar strip, saying that a cable has been unplugged.
(That's the blue strip down where you have the time and date.)

On my daughter's wireless connection there is also a notice in the same place when the connection is cut.
