Is 4' too narrow for french door shower?
Comments (2)I just installed frameless french shower doors. they are lovely, and allow easy access for double shower. I also think they are a great idea since I plan to stay in our house into old age. Very easy to have help getting in and out. My shower width is 4 ft 9 in. I think 4 feet would work fine. Go to the shower door shop, and look at the displays. ....See MoreDoors that are 2' too narrow for opening?
Comments (8)Before you proceed.... Putting anything behind the frame means you shift everything inward. That is fine for the door, but it will create a 1" gab to the baseboards. It will also reveal 1" more of plaster on each side, so you'll probably need to repaint that wall....See MoreReplacing a bathtub with a shower - too narrow?
Comments (15)Is you current tub/shower combo in an alcove? If your bathtub is enclosed in an alcove and has a surround of tile or other material and you measured from one end to the other, you need to add at least an inch to your measurement for each wall you encounter. When my son first measured his tub area he thought it was 28x58 but when the contractor measured it he said that the rough in measurements would be for 30x60 tub/shower. You may want to recheck your measurements. My son ended up using Kohler's 30x60 cast iron shower pan. It is designed to replace a standard tub. He did you glass doors on his new shower. He would have like to use a hinged door but had to go with sliders because he could not change the location of the valves and he wanted to be able to turn on the shower without getting into it first. My son falls into the big and tall category and did notice that the shower area seemed slightly smaller with the glass than with a shower curtain. But even with that he prefers having the glass doors. Here is a not quite finished picture of his shower with Kohler's Salient shower pan....See More16x32" tile too large in shower?
Comments (8)Yes I agree with millworkman. Although I’m having large tiles, on the actual shower floor, I’m putting in mosaic tiles for added grip. It will def help make them less slippy but I’ve heard now that they’re hard to keep clean. So I may be making a rod for my own back 🤞...See Moregenab55
