I recommend Barry's in Bridgewater NJ. Good prices and this family owned business services the appliances they sell. The sales people do not work on commission so they can truly help you evaluate the appliances. If you go, tell them I sent you. Anyone can help you there. They are all well trained. I can recommend Ryan and Jason. FYI they have an electrolux induction on display - a rare thing. They allowed me to test drive it by baking cookies. They will be setting up a capital that customers can also cook on. As an interior designer, I look for stores that service their customers. Barry's has its on fleet of service people and usually you will have service within three days. They prioritize - a customer without refrigeration would get service before someone with a broken dishwasher. Most often, I believe service is even quicker.

the reason why a 'clean' feedback record is achieved is because this jerk strings you out until beyond 90 days and you can no longer leave feedback. he has an endless string of his likely prostitute "girlfriends" answer his cell phone when you call to check on your order. sooooo, by the time he is done stringing you out 90+ days on ebay (can't leave feedback) and at the point of time where i lost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS with this Harry Slime Man, paypal would not allow you to file any claims outside of 90 days. this is a con artist, the kin of an allegedly reputable LARGE appliance dealing chain in the St. Louis area. somehow Harry learned the ropes of the business and then got hooked up with damaged garbage that fell off the back of a truck and has pretty stock photos on ebay and what you get, IF you get anything is pure trash. we got TEN loads out of our dishwasher. he totally ripped us off on THREE pieces that we ordered and never received whatsoever the wonderful lengthy comments from "ashley" is the same blow up doll nobody who harry hands his cell phone to when the heat gets on and she (there's more than one of her) pretends to care, write down your information and "harry will get back to you". in this day and age of alleged consumer protection, i don't understand how this guy is still in business, if he is at all. the better business bureau was COMPLETELY WORTHLESS when i contacted them and i guess it goes to how much his rich family will bribe the BBB to keep his record clean. normally when you have numerous if not 1 out of 2 people this guy deals with complaining about being gypped for hundreds / thousands, the BBB rating would suffer. But the BBB is as bad as Harry Slime Man himself- just a bunch of slick talking bums. I have a feeling that the Slyman furniture dealerships do not want black sheep Harry in their outfit so they feed him the garbage by product from their business and then he goes off and rooks people on ebay for it. I never got any settlement on any of this. Harry pursued the sale and then dried up and blew away when our crap was never sent. what was eventually sent was different stuff and only ONE out of SIX appliances ever worked beyond a month. multiple ones were dead out of the box and more than one piece just was never sent at all. Like I said- by the time he strings you along for four months there's NO RECOURSE for you- so BE WARNED. if you don't get your items within a couple weeks time, file a chargeback and move on. I have no idea how this guy ever made it with a rotten reputation even through the year 2015 with the same MO, attentive customer service and then hookers answering his phone every once in a while and you just get shafted mercillessly after he strings you out past 90 days He may be OUT of business or processing payments OFF paypal (WARNING SIGN) now that paypal's chageback period is 180 days.

Thanks avidchef. The price I got from the KD was an all-in price, including installation. I know that they are taking a markup which is ok with me as long as the price stays reasonably competitive. My tile guy is not a fabricator. If what we did last time for the bathrooms is an indication, he will send me to a couple of yards (probably in Long Island City or Connecticut) and if I find what I like, he will have me tell the yard to ship it to the fabricator. The fabricator who did my bathroom counters did a nice job. They were Granitops in Yonkers, if I remember correctly. I know that my tile guy will take a markup if I go with him and I guess I am ok with that too, since otherwise I am just someone off the street to these folks. I guess the question is how much is ok. He probably wants 20%. I also guess that if I went directly to the fabricator, they would charge me more than if my tile guy got involved. I am really afraid of doing this one on my own. I am an experienced shopper, and sourced all my bathroom fixtures and fittings myself and have sourced my kitchen appliances, but stone is a bit of a black hole to me.

I have the KA French door with no water or ice on door as we just didn't ever use it and on our last ancient fridge it was the first thing to break although after many years. I don't mind going into the drawer for the ice at all because they provide a nice scoop and you can just quickly scoop a big amount of ice and be done with it. There is ice water spout inside the fridge on the side wall. I didn't want to sacrifice fridge space to have it on the door but everyone has different needs and wants. I have been happy with my KA and have had it for about two years plus. It's stainless and once I got the hang of how to keep it looking good I love it. I have stayed in condos on vacation that have all GE and I was very impressed with the appliances. The dishwashers did a great job and I liked the washer and dryer so much I sold my Bravos Maytag set that I loathed and got a GE front load that I love : ) My sister did a huge kitchen reno and has the GE ovens and she is happy with them. I have to tell you there really isn't that much difference in appliances unless you get up in the stratosphere of price and even then they all keep food cold, freeze ice, cook food. If you have a limited budget just stay in a price range that works for you and don't get too caught up in worrying about this that and the other thing. I admire you for trying to keep it in the 3K range but I don't see how you are going to be able to do that with the number of appliances you need and the brands you are looking at. I am wishing you all the best and absolutely YES I would say that the counter depth is definitely worth it. It made such a difference in my kitchen with not sticking out in the pathway and gave us so much more room and utility. We have a small fridge in the basement for overflow and still since our family is small I have plenty of room. Sometimes the freezer can be a problem but with the extra space in the other fridge it's workable.
