How wonderful. I am sooooo jealous. My two grown sons should have been married long ago but are just too busy mountain biking, kite boarding, snow boarding, and meeting an endless number of women who are also interested in fun fun fun -- not settling down and producing grandchildren.

Congratulations, you are going to love it!

I have a 4 year old and a 19 mo. old, both boys and they are so much fun. We have the best time.

The 4 year old just learned this weekend to ride his bicycle without training wheels. The 19 mo. old does not call me KK, he calls me OUTSIDE because we are in the backyard alot and the minute he gets here he wants to go outside.

I will warn you, when they start walking they have LOTS, I MEAN LOTS of energy, magnify that 24 times.

We had them 9 days in July when Mom and Dad were in Alaska and DH and I were TIRED , but loved every minute of it.

Congrats Linda!! It sounds like they live near you so you will be a big part of the baby's life....that is absolutley wonderful! Grandparents are a wonderful blessing.

Oh, Wow, how exciting! When I first learned I was going to be a Grandma, I had mixed feelings, because I didn't feel old enough, but as soon as I layed eyes on my newborn grandson, and held him in my arms, I was thrilled, and have been ever since. Enjoy!

I was Blessed to have my DS & DDIL ask me to be present at the birth of my first grandchild (9-1/2 lb. girl). To hold her before she'd even had her first bath was, dare I say, even more thrilling than when my own were born...probably because I wasn't so exhausted! With the next two I wasn't at the birth 'cause we were babysitting the older ones. We paced by the phone for news of the births & got to take the older siblings to see their new brother/sister for the first time. Grandkids are cool!

Linda, there is nothing like it. You will see...it's so hard to explain but you will see. Maggie has now become my side kick for most of the things I do. Things that require one hand for holding onto her. Just wait till he/she starts walking and they are too big to pick up.

A grandchild is a blessing that's even BETTER (sorry for the caps--I don't know how to italicize in this message box) than you can ever begin to imagine.

Once again, you have the joy of a baby in your life, but you have the additional pleasure of seeing your child as a parent. That was an unexpected bonus--my daughter is a wonderful devoted mother, and it was a side of her that I felt privileged to see. And, another bonus is that your children first begin to understand how much you love them.
