Counter-Depth French Door Fridge? Electrolux, Kitchen Aid, other?

We are about to buy all new appliances for our kitchen renovation. We went with a Bosch dishwasher, the Electrolux induction range... But we are having the HARDEST time picking a fridge! I need a counter-depth- the area I have to put it in is 32" x 72". I do not want an ice maker/water dispenser on the front of the fridge, because I like it to be seamless looking, plus we have a separate ice maker in the kitchen.

I am looking at the Electrolux fridges and the Kitchen Aid mainly (primarily from Sears, but I would buy from Famous Tate (Tampa-area store), Lowes or Home Depot. I keep reading bad reviews about the Electrolux fridges, and then some bad reviews on the Kitchen Aid ones too.

Does anyone have one they recommend? I am open to other brands, but trying to keep the price under $2500. I need to buy it by this weekend!!!

The first version of my new kitchen layout needed a CD FD fridge. After much research, I had decided on the KA pro. Now, my layout has changed to being better with a single door bottom-freezer. I chose the KA again. It's sitting in my garage right now awaiting install next month so I can't give it a review.

KA is well-regarded here. During my research, my trusted family friend/appliance salesperson told me she does not recommend Elux appliances because of reliability issues. I was planning on the Elux non-icon ovens despite her advice. She said whatever I do, don't buy one of their fridges. Hard to know as many here like their Elux fridges.

Kitchen Aid does not make a counter depth in any style that will fit in a 32" space, neither does Elux. unless you want an all fridge.

I'm posting on the general subject of using a fridge before kitchen remodel starts, and not on the specifics of this model. I bought an LG when Best Buy had a particularly good sale and began using it as soon as it was delivered, even though the remodel didn't start for 5 weeks. I had them just plug it in without ice/water hookups as a temporary measure, and keep the plastic film that protects the stainless finish. I'm using the little trays to make ice as a temporary measure. I absolutely loathed my 1980s fridge and was very anxious to have it hauled away. My electricity bill dropped 20%! I already love the fridge and it's one oasis of calm in the chaos of a kitchen remodel! It's been moved around a bit during the remodel, and once it was accidentally plugged into a non-working outlet (no disaster though). So using the fridge before the remodel is doable, especially if you're willing to live without the ice/water features.

Yoyoma, Does the frig that you saw have water/ice dispenser thru the door? I called Kitchen Aid and they said they do have this new model coming out , but it is not in the stores yet and they do not know when it will be available. I need to pick out a frig and give the dimensions to my cabinet store so he can order cabinets. Since my other other appliances i picked out are KA, i wanted to stay with that brand. Also, what was the price on it? Thanks for any advice.

In the category you're describing (flush counter-depth, tall), have you looked at the Thermador? We have the 30" and its been excellent so far (just two months). The one downside (and it's significant, but I don't know how it compares to the others) is that the produce drawer is WAY too small (too shallow top to bottom - you can't possibly fit a head of lettuce in it).

I have a Counter depth Bosch 800 Integra. Side by side. I will say that the CD Bosch S by S held the same amount of food as our SuperBa Kitchen Aid. We were shocked the day we moved all our food into the new refrig. I am still amazed how the German Designers have utilized every bit of space in the CD Bosch. We do have an extra frig. It is not the old Superba but a far smaller one and only about 1/4 of the space is used. A waste of energy. We are a family of 5 with extended family visiting often. We eat veggies, drink juices and use a refrig to it's capacity in the main kitchen. Think about how you eat? Do you use your refrig for fruits, veggies, meats, frozen, drinks, milk, leftovers... This might help you to see how what would work for you. I did happen to see a freezer for $200 at Lowes. I might think about getting rid of our extra and just buying a small chest Freezer. We bought a Kenmore Elite CD which is really a Samsung and we love it.
Has the really nice 7" display panel with ice maker and water. Also has the twin cooling system which keeps veggies and such fresher longer, it is very quiet I rarely even hear it make any sound at all.

The fridge usually sell for little over $3000 but we waited until Sears had a 30% off sale and bought it then for $2000 with free delivery.

I would highly recommend the Jenn Air 72" counterdepth. Model JFC2290VEM. Iv'e seen them and they look great and the people that I know that have them, love them!
If you want a KA, then take a look at the KFCP22EXMP.

The only counter depth fridge I could find to fit the same size space WITHOUT icemaker or water was a Fisher Paykel (or a Liebherr, if I removed the above fridge cabinet - which I am considering doing).

We bought the counter depth 23 cubic foot Samsung french door fridge. It does have the ice-maker in the door but I believe there is a model without it. We love it. It is very spacious for counter depth and really like all the features. It has dual cooling system which helps keep the food fresher longer. i also like the "power freeze" and "power cool" options which lowers the temperature quickly. I use that a lot when coming home fromt the grocery. I would highly recommend looking at Samsung.

What's behind your refrigerator? Could you recess a standard-depth refrigerator into the back wall and, possibly, the room behind it?

You can gain approx 3" if you can recess it into the back wall. If you can recess it all the way into the room behind it, then you have many more options.

Is the refrigerator space 32inches wide. Did I get that right? If so I think that you could go onto AJMAdisons website as they quote the width and height of each item

So far we're loving our GE CAFE CD FD. Ice and water are inside, not on the door. The front is flat, not rounded. The interior is very nice looking. The handles are similar to the Wolf range. I know most people here loathe GE but so far so good. We're very happy with this fridge.

32" isn't a good width to fit into. You can get a few 30" refrigerators, but they're mostly the basic kind and I don't know of any that are counter depth. At 33" you can get a few more models, but counter-depth means less deep, so less deep times less wide equals not much capacity.

Counter depth fridges should have at least 36" wide space.
