What a great tip I got from reading Jane's laptop virus problem, going to Landzdown for a clean up. I've been there for about the last 4 days trying to get my old IBM Netvista cleaned up from my 2 trojans. The machine is getting better, learned a lot there. I have a question for you guys....how do I get rid of some of my tool bars. I have been careful not to include new ones with recent downloads, but I've still ended up with 6 lines! WOT had it's own line for awhile and now it has been joined with "file, edit, view, favorites, tools and help"!

Try right clicking on an empty space on a toolbar. should bring up a list of toolbars so you can remove the check mark from the ones you don't want to show.

Or on your Internet Explorer page, click on "View, Click on "Toolbars" and a list should appear. Uncheck the ones you dont want to show

If you are serving noodles I'd skip the bread. Still prefer soup to salad this time of year. I also think it's more "romantic" ...but like I say I'm not huge on salads especially in February! Good idea to lose the fondue but you could do tempura veggies and tempura shrimp if you want to do a group cook thing but you need a fondue pot that can handle hot oil, not ceramic. Joe's Tempura recipe is excellent. If the Tempura doesn;t do it for you I think something savory and "bready" would work well as an appetizer. Cheddar Parmesan Crackers, Gougeres with Chives and Cheddar, Parmesan Bread Twists, Annie's Rosemary Blue Cheese Ice Box Cookies. I think you could also serve my Stacked Pizza with the Chocotini's Got all the recipes if you want any of them (except for the Parmesan Bread Twists but someone will have it, it's just puff pastry strips , melted butter and parmesan) Let me know and I'll email them to you so we can return this thread to Linda. Count me in as TKO as well! I have been planning for over a year now, ever since we had our offer accepted on this house. I found this site soon after and it has been so wonderful and informative--my plans have changed a zillion times with every new or interesting k;tchen I see. Besides GW, I also run through the cable guide on my tv for two weeks at a time and DVR all the HGTV shows that have to do with k;tchens--Bang for Your Buck (the great room eps too, as those often include k;tchens); Dear Genevieve; Holmes on Homes; Divine Design; Color Splash; Spice up my K;tchen---you get the picture. Don't always love or even like what I see, but I most always learn something. I also subscribe to 24 design blogs--half deal specifically with k;tchens and the rest post about them at least some of the time. My cabinet maker said I'm the most prepared client he thinks he's ever had (and that it was a good thing, not annoying--but who knows? ;->). My remod@l doesn't even start until late August, and now that I have picked everything, I'm kind of twiddling my thumbs---but I still love reading about k;tchens!

I really need to get my basement sorted out. To do that, I have to scan a bunch artwork/schoolwork that the boys have done. That is a huge task. I should have been doing it this winter, but well, you know, Netflix was calling my name. LOL. Once I get that started, I can empty out a dresser that is falling apart and get rid of that. I can sort out the school supplies and such properly and get rid of some other stuff I don't need to be dragging around for years. I think I'll buy a couple of Ikea bookcases with doors on the bottom and then I can properly put stuff onto a bookshelf in the spare room down there. When I get that spare room cleaned out, I'll move all the flooring I plan on installing in the basement into that room. When I had the floors done upstairs, they were on clearance and once it was gone, it was gone, so I bought enough to have the upstairs and downstairs match. I have purchased the sink cabinet and mirror cabinet for my future bathroom reno. I need to price check the tile I like at Home Depot and if it's the same as a local shop, then I'll support the local shop. I want a 24" square tile for the floor and I might have to get that in the US. I'll have to see if we're near a tile place on Sunday when my son is there for soccer. I know the faucets I want but I'm undecided on the bathtub. I don't want to spend $700 on the one I like that is ultra plain. I saw one that is pretty plain and nice. It's $100 cheaper in the US. I'll have to figure exchange and taxes to see what is more worth my while. I'll check flyers too as this is the time of year they have all the home improvement sales. Once I have all that, I'll call the contractor and get an estimate and time frame. I didn't really answer the question. It seems I'm filling up the house not clearing it out. LOL

Casi you did a great job yourself in staying patient and working step by step to clean your computer so I have to say congrats and good work! LzD is an excellent forum and please visit us and play some games in the lounge too in addition to coming by when you need help.

most toolbars will have a listing in your add remove programs in control panel, if you go there and look through the list if you find them there just select them then select to remove them.
If you prefer you can ask Corrine to help you remove them also since she has been helping you.

when you do the uncheck on the toolbars list that does not remove them that just hides them.

a good place to check out what you might be getting with things you download so you know ahead of time to watch out for the "unwanted stuff" is the Hall of Shame list.

Thanks...I'd been playing around with those buttons, etc., but I was afraid to do anything...didn't want to lose the ones that I wanted. The only problem I have left with that is the WOT is on a line all by itself now, wish I could make it join another line. I want to be able to see it.
Raven....thanks so much....what a small world...didn't know you would "know" Corrine. (you know what I mean). BTW, I was looking in this forum history today trying to find exactly how I came about adding RAM to this first machine and I saw your scolding for me because the way I addressed Zep. I felt so bad about the way it came across. I was new and I had butted in on another's posting and he had told me to address the issue to him, so I did. I think I explained that in another posting, but I am sooooo sorry. I couldn't get along without this forum! Thanks. You guys are the BEST!

No problem Casi, totally understand.

Yes I know Corrine, she is a great lady, her skills are very impressive, she donates a lot of her time on the numerous forums providing help. The entire team on LzD is quite impressive actually. I have been there a few years now and really like it. Many of us are on other forums together too.

You can move WOT to a different line, I use firefox so will give the directions on how to do it there. Go to the top bar and in a clear spot right click and select customize, or View>toolbars>customize that will unlock the bars, then use your cursor and grab the WOT icon and drag it to which ever bar you want and at what ever location you want it. Once you are done go to the customize box that opened and click on done.

For IE you would need to tell us which IE you are using, this link may give you some help. I no longer use IE, but I am sure someone can jump in and help with it.
