Hi, I wonder if anyone can assist me with this. Thank you.
I have a D-Link router model DI 624.
I have one desk-top computer hooked into it with a cable, into port 1. The desktop computer is switched off.
My laptop computer is switched off also.
Question.
Why is the WLAN led indicator continually blink when I'm not using the Internet with the laptop (or my desktop computer for that matter)?
The router is supposed to be protected from other users by a log in key password. But I'm wondering if some one else is actually being able to lock onto my router's WLAN connection?
The indicator lights on the front panel of the D-Link router show as follows........
Power LED. Solid light. (As supposed to be when the router is powered up)
Status LED. Blinking light. (As supposed to be indicating router is ready)
WAN LED. ( As supposed to be, steady light shows connection to WAN port
Blinks during data transmission.) This light "Twitters" a bit now and then.
WLAN LED.( supposed to be a solid light showing that the wireless segment is ready and blinks during wireless data transmission.) This LED blinks a steady on/off continuously, wheter the laptop computer is on or off.
LOCAL NETWORK LED'S ( lights/ports, only one used.) ( The first one is a solid light showing a port connection to my desktop commputer. Both it and the WAN LED blink furiously "Twitter" when I 'm on the Internet and there is a data transmission going on).
Thank you in advance for any thoughts about this,
"Horton"
