This option was disabled by default in IE7 and has been removed from the Address Bar in IE8. However the advanced option that controls the behavior will still exist, because other parts of Windows will still use this functionality if the user chooses to enable it � just not the Address Bar. In Internet Options> Content> AutoComplete> Settings, do you have AutoComplete turned on for forms, usernames and passwords? Deleting AutoComplete data from Internet Options> Content> AutoComplete> Settings may reset AutoComplete and allow usernames, passwords and form data to be saved. You also want to make sure you do not have your browser set to automatically delete your history, cookies, temp internet files, that can affect how it is able to retain that info. using the google toolbar apparently will give you some of that functionality or using an add on like roboform there is a version of roboform free for IE you may want to read the site and see if it would work for you. webkat, I think thats what she means. I've been trying to do that too and just found out how. How can I erase my Search History and saved auto-complete criteria? Answer: To clear the history list: On the Help & Settings menu, click Settings. In the left pane, click Internet options. For the person who said s/he disliked writing return addresses on Christmas, birthday cards, etc., I support several charities and over the years a number have sent sheets of return address stickers, probably enough to last me for 330 years or so. (Intended to write "30" above, actually came out as "39"; should have left it, I guess, being close ... but when I went to aamend, reduplication editor amended it as you see. There aren't that many on hand, I assure you!). I have an address book that's been around for many years. I find that after several amendments have been made on one person's listing, I cut a a piece of glued paper from a received envelope that wasn't fully glued to fit the needed space. ole joyful
