honestly if you don't wish to switch from IE to another browser then you are simply asking for punishment. IE was not made for users, but advertisers. That is why IE users have more problems with ads than users of any other browser. If you won't help yourself why on earth do you expect anyone else to help you? Download Firefox and it will automatically import all your IE links and settings to make things painless. Complaining about how bad IE sucks on ad based web sites is like sticking your hand into a fire and complaining to god about making fire less hot. Ain't gonna happen. Help yourself or learn to accept the pain.

I'm not saying I could do it, but I'd likely try. For instance, this rough beginning using "sed" works on the bbcode you posted above. It's missing a bunch of tags, even the regular [URL] one, but maybe it wouldn't be that difficult to extend. for me all of my versions of firefox have the address bar on the menu bar perhaps right click and choose customize and see if you can drag the url bar on to it. make sure it has not been squeezed down so you can not see it because you can slide and move all of that stuff on the bars to the size you want it and it can get so squeezed it virtually disappears. There has to be a setting in about:config for it also but I don't know exactly which it would be. Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help) Press ALT V T M (CTRL V T M on Macs) on your keyboard. This should restore the menu bar , You can also restore the menu bar by pressing Alt and going to View : Toolbars : Menu bar Navigation Toolbar Press Alt V T N (CTRL V T N on Macs) on your keyboard. You can also restore the Nav. Toolbar by going to View : Toolbars : Navigation Toolbar OR 1) click on start 2)go to all programs 3) roll down to mozilla firefox folder 4) click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode), check the box where is said you can enable the menu bar.
