Tee-hee... I made the London paper today!

Long story short, I was in Malibu last weekend when there were a few incidents happening with the paparazzi. I didn't see it but I kind of got the aftermath when I went to the beach to shoot an assignment for a flash photography class. If you've got a camera in Malibu these days, the locals don't exactly roll out the red carpet for you. My friend, who lives there, wrote about me in her L.A. Times blog and that was picked up by this reporter for the Guardian, who interviewed me (not that I had anything meaningful to say). I was a reporter for many years so it was kind of fun to be on the other side of it. On the other hand, he wasn't great with facts. Whatever.

Wow! Our very own paparazza. Diana, that is very cool.

I was quoted in the Wall St Journal once in an article about appliance colors. It was so funny to be riding the train to work and watching people reading the article in the paper.

Strange seeing your name in print, isn't it?

i love to watch the hummingbirds, have ya'll checked out the hummingbird forum?? there's a guy over there who made an awesome, really awesome hummingbird feeder!! and he's a farm boy!! LOL he posted a bunch of video's for talla to see, that was so sweet!! she had to see every single one of them!! no stinking kidding!! LOL i put the link here for ya all to look at!! i want one sooo bad!! now that, i can't do just yet!! i'm so involved in this fixing/cleaning up this contraption, LOL one room down, no two rooms down, 5 more to go.!!! yeeee HAWWWWW LOL grant told me there is no way that my gh is level!!! he said what in the world makes me think its level?? i said the leveler does!! he said, there is no way its level!!! i said, dude that leveler said it is, i did that level at every single "intersection" and it leveled out. on all 4 sides. it just looks funny because of the ground. errr!! MEN!!! go and mess up my plan!! LOL it must be that dang thyroid. that's what i'm gonna lay it on!! i need to vent!! that's it!! LOL he's getting that thing radiated and gone- assuming it will take the dye?? something like that. LOL we have something like 5 more weeks to wait to find out. its going to be a long wait and fighting. i can feel it. ok, i'm don'e. we did find a pair of jeans for talla that she likes!! now lets see if she will actually wear them@! LOL they do have butterfly's on them!! LOL we didn't find anything for him though he's pretty picky. i said well, honey, you are always working anyhow, so i guess, thats alright. Hi Cynic...Meet Caroline!! I had a 4 1/2lb. Fox Terrier/Chihuahua mix, Susie, with me for 12 years. One of the purest joys of her life was jumping up, digging on the TP roll to unroll it, and then grabbing a mouthful, so she could gleefully run down the hallway, into the living room, and then the kitchen. When the long streamer would snag and break, she'd start the whole process over again, I finally installed a higher shelf to hold the rolls. Once in a great while I would put a roll on the original holder since it brought her so much joy. She only unrolled the paper in the main bath. She never bothered the paper in the master bath. And now you "know someone who has seen it!"

Sounds kind of exciting, as long as they don't bash your camera! Wow now you're famous in London.

Next time you'll need to wear a printed T-shirt that says..."I'm just a tourist" or something like that LOL.

The picture I took of one of the guys at the beach turned out great (to me, anyway!). I liked it so much, I put it on my new web site. I just launched the site last week so it's a work in progress but if you want to see it (and remember, I am not selling you anything), he's the tattoed guy, the last picture in the people section.

I'm working on a volunteer project with the Salvation Army and did some shooting this weekend. I'm just getting that underway but you can see some of the initial portraits under The Alegria Project. I'm really happy with the way they're turning out so far.

Thanks, you guys. I'm eager to add to this site. But one thing you may not have seen is my gallery from the trip Vicki and I took to Ecuador in February. It's on my pbase account. It's pretty cool, though.

Tracey, it is Hal Sparks! I did a shoot of him at his house. He is cute. You also might recognize Victoria Recano from "The Insider" (she's a reporter) and Melanie Paxson (with her dog Owen... he looks just like a child!), who was on "Notes from the Underbelly."

Diana, you do beautiful work! One of the photos was on the beach with a couple and a young child - was that Westward or Zuma Beach, by any chance, near Malibu?

Donna, it was Malibu... El Capitan... my favorite beach. Good eye! It's near Broad Beach.

Oh yes, Ellen, I meant to write you back... we laughed about your email. Her, uh, "problem" is fine. She's very famous for that problem. I can't tell you how many people send me clippings or ask about it. Right now she's enjoying the ones that say her real age is 47.... 13 years younger than reality.
