The AGA Pro Plus is a nice dual fuel range. It operates like every range you have ever used, no learning curve. Great colors to choose from and the ability to have a matching kitchen set from the same company AGAMarvel. Even the back splash comes in the same matching color as the fridge, range, hood and under counter beverage center.

The range has a nice feature where you add a divider to split the oven. This way you only use half of the oven whenever your want. Two convection fans make using that feature an easier choice.

Best of all..... the range is not made in the UK. Its made right here in the USA (Michigan) along with a number of other items. Meaning you will be able to get service and parts if you find yourself needing them.

Buy from your local dealer and help keep Americans working.

I must say, ash2011, your post reads awfully suspicious. Having just joined here only a few days ago, with no other posts, and with no representation that you've ever owned or use an Aga Pro yourself, I'm inclined to believe you are on the Aga Marvel payroll. If that's the case, then please be advised that such blatant, self-serving product promotion by manufacturers and vendors is looked upon with much disfavor here.

As for me, I'm a consumer and longtime owner of an Aga 6-4 who has been known in these parts as an Aga cheerleader of sorts. Unfortunately, however, I find I can no longer give an unqualified rave review to Aga. This is based on my long unsatisfactory experience with the consistently incompetent, unprofessional, and unresponsive technical support department of Aga Heartland in Canada.

BTW, I do recognize that, since having changed the corporate name from Aga Heartland to Aga Marvel(for that part of the empire which deals with the NA market), the company has now moved it's NA technical service department from Canada to Michigan. Does that mean that significant personnel changes in the technical service department have been made as well? At every level? I sure hope so!

My apologies, Ash. I shot off my big mouth too quickly. Having now seen a few of your other posts to this forum, I have to retract my claims of suspicion as to your relationship with Aga Marvel. In fact it looks like you are familiar with a wide variety of appliances, not just Aga. You are a dealer perhaps? A tech service provider? Whatever your station, I apologize and ask that you let me be the first to welcome you to our forum . . . . where can be rather heavy handed at times with our spam watch. :-)

I wish they made the Pro+ with the knobs from the Legacy. ;) They look like something out of the Jetsons or maybe the original Star Trek series.

Love the panel feature to split the oven in 2--heat up faster (?) and use less power. Might have to go on a little drive tomorrow to go check one out. (~50 miles away)

Though I have used all gas all my life and had been leaning towards the (all gas) Bert Pro. Something about all those electronics in a device that routinely gets to a few hundred degrees F gives pause.

Plus, I love Bert's knobs. Shallow, aren't I?

chaparral, you will have a hard time making a decision on a Bertazzoni range and an Aga Pro +. Same size oven for the 36" and same burner configuration.

The Bertazzoni you like can come in colors, dual fuel, self clean, six burners or five, towel rack option for the front and an all gas version.
Very few electronics and even has a blower to keep the few electronic items from becoming hot.

I've already told you about the Aga Pro + but here is something that most don't know. If you provide AgaMarvel with your color code they will paint your range that color! It's quite impressive to have that option. When they moved the assembly of the range from Canada to Michigan they gained that ability. The Michigan facility has a state of the art power coating paint booth. They are very proud of this machine and the ease in which they can change paint options without stopping the line.

I have used a Aga Pro + and had the opportunity to eat a meal cooked on one! With that being said I have done the same with Bertazzoni. This is going to come down to your personal taste and budget. They are evenly matched with performance and ease in repair.

Does anyone know if they ever have a sale/promotion on the AGA gas cooker? This is the type that used to always stay on, but can now be fitted with an optional thermostat thingamagiggy. Sort of like a gas furnace programmable thermostat (?)
I saw one for the first time this week and dragged my husband to see it yesterday. Much to my surprise, he liked it.

Finally found a place to check out the Aga Pro+. It looks really solid, and has a HUGE oven. I mean, you could fit a suckling pig in there if that was your thing. The oven divider is a good idea. Looked at it side by side with Bert Master and Pro. I like the grates much better on the Bert--more substantial. One thing I don't like about the Aga is the small size of the icons for oven modes and not totally intuitive (to me, anyways) selection of icons. I guess I've always had a gas oven and I like the simplicity of it as well as (especially with the huge Aga oven) the extra time I think it would take to get the Aga's oven heated. And even with the rebates the Bert is a few hundred $ less.

So probably will go with one of the 36" all gas Berts, and run conduit and allow for spacing for a future 24" Miele Chef speed oven if we're inspired down the road.

The place I went to also had Fisher Paykel, DCS, NXR, Jenn Air, Wolf, Viking, La Cornue, and others. Great to see them all after reading about them in these forums.

Chaparral, good choice on the range.

The Bertazzoni is a great range. Please be aware of the warm air that blows out of the front(by design) and the blower motor that runs when you use the oven.
Use Weimans stainless steel cleaner to keep it looking brand new using a cloth wiping with the grain of the stainless. (top and door)

I did say that it comes down to personal choice when you put the two ranges side by side. The range decals do take a little getting used to and their choice in grates.

Please make sure the installer uses all the supplied parts and reads the instructions. Issues others have had with Bertazzoni all come from improper installs!

Thanks ash2011-- there is a vent at the top of the Bert as well. Does it vent out the top as well as the front?

Yes. It vents out of both spots. The back vent handles the hot air from the oven and the top blows air over the electronics and out through the front. Its the space between the top of the oven door and the bottom of the burner controls.

Hi ash2011, you sound like you know alot about the AGA PRO, I have one and totally love it. I would like to know if I can change the clock to a 12hr clock instead of the Army 24hr time. Other than that it is perfect.
