5 years and 4 feet later.......
Comments (7)Thank you nativec. I thought I had the non blooming type of plumeria till this year. LOL Moonie, did you come over and take that picture? That is exactly how it looks on top, including the tree behind it. LOL It has very large leaves compared to the others underneath it and the flower spike branches. It also finally will have side branches and look like a tree and not just a stick in the ground. Tropicalzone7, the pot is only about a foot wide. I do use an upright dolly do move the larger pots inside and will probably have to use it this year on this pot because the plant grew another foot this year. :p...See MoreCabinet Depth Side-by-Side Refrigerators - PIC
Comments (7)Is the height restriction b/c of the cabinets above? If so, have you considered taking down those cabinets, getting the refrigerator you'd like and then either modifying those cabinets or putting something else there (open shelves, or something else)? [You might be able to take off the doors, shorten the cabinet carcass and then put some decorative items in the resized cabinet w/o the doors...doors are harder to modify.]...See MoreAnother Build - 5 Years Later
Comments (13)mrspete, Good suggestions! I like the idea of bookshelves around the piano. I remember in the Tucker Bayou they have lovely shelves in the dining area yet I didn't want shelving there so love the idea of it around the piano. My husband was born in Germany, raised in France and Chad, African and he travels to cool places several times per year with his job (and I get to go sometimes!!) so we have some special things we'd like to display so that would be perfect along with books, etc. We really like the idea of an apartment, too. It seems to make perfect sense for our family at this stage in our lives. I DO still need a school room because my son has Autism and although he's 14, certain subjects he's well below grade level and other subjects has excelled. We could be schooling for SEVERAL more years. We have family that visit from France, Spain and Maine and when they visit it's for several weeks - not just a weekend so that extra room will be used. I will work on one less bedroom, extending the mudroom and fix the cramped space in the kitchen/pantry. I like the 1/2 bath for when we come in from the pool but might can do away with it... or might can put it closer to the back door. I'll work on that! YEAH!!! I feel like I'm moving forward. Thank you mrspete!...See MoreKitchenAid side by side counter depth refrigerator?
Comments (13)Itsourcasa - does your KA French door have the interior on the left side water dispenser? If yes, how‘s it working? Ours drips for a bit after use causing water mineral build up on deli drawer side below. We keep a folded up paper towel there to catch after using & pumice stone to clean off orange mineral deposit. Lovely. Also, our ice maker is turned off bc of the klunking noise it’s making. Per research it’s ice maker trying to push out ice that‘s not there. Frig just had new water line installed & water disp works so not plugged. Our frig was new in 2012. If motor is failing it’s lasted longer than BeverlyFLADeziner’s sister’s did! Is your sister’s dislike of her SXS due to space only? Counter depth increases the space loss issue but we must have counter depth! Patricia, we also dislike look of ice maker & water dispenser on door which is why we have current KA French door with interior but I’ve just described problem with that interior water dispenser. The KA SXS in door dispenser looks much better than other counter depth models & the ice bucket inside doesn’t sit on freezer shelf taking up freezer space. That’s why looking at this specific model. I’ll look at Frigidaire brand though based on your recommendation. I looked only at the brands with top ratings. I know SXS are a love em or hate em deal! Since I have experience with both types I think I’m realistic about limits of SXS space & the ice maker not on shelf is big improvement. Beverly, the supply chain delays are why I want a new frig ordered before mine gives up. Getting parts is a problem too though & the couple bad reviews on the KA SXS model I’m considering are giving me pause. Don’t want new frig issue can’t get fixed either! That’s why I’m looking for specific experience with this current model....See Moreweissman
