Firefox-can't find save tabs on exit

Anybody know what happened to Firefox save tabs feature when closing browser? I can't seem to find it in add-ons or extensions.
Loved that feature because I jump right onto my online email and facebook without entering web urls.

Isn't it still in "Options"?

Tools->Options->General

To do what you want, I believe it should be set to "Show my windows and tabs from last time".

Like this:

When Firefox starts: Show my home pageShow a blank pageShow my windows and tabs from last time

Chuggerguy, I checked options and can't find it there either. Chrome still has the save tabs option but I have issues with Chrome on Pinterest.

you are very welcome Pam glad that helped. One thing your husband may want to try, this is what I do and like it, I create folders on the bar directly above the tabs which is the bookmarks toolbar, in those folders I put say my daily faves the ones I go to first every day, then all I have to do is right click that folder and hit open all in tabs and voila there they all are. I do a folder for my emails too since I have a few and can open all them at once the same way. I love the bookmarks tool bar, if you choose not to put them in folders you can simply drag any website you are currently on to the bookmarks tool bar by grabbing it's icon in the url bar and just drag it to that toolbar and it will stick, to change the name right click on the icon choose properties and you can make changes. to create the folder on the bar right click a clear space click new folder the box comes up to name it, then to put your faves in there just go to the website and drag it in or right click on the folder and select add bookmark here.

Thanks Raven. Setting up the email helped - so easy and works great. I'm having more trouble with the tabs. I went to tools, options and tabs - but no matter what I choose, I can't get the tabs to stay there. I think I'm not quite clear on using them. I noticed that if I have a webpage open, and I click a link within that webpage, then it opens up the newly linked webpage - and retains the original webpage in a tab. At least I think that's what's happening - am I right? But what I was also hoping to do is if I'm on one webpage - say computer forum - and I don't want to close it - but then I want to go to my AOL mailbox - if I click on my AOl mailbox (or any other bookmarked page) - that new page opens - but I get disconnected from the other page I had opened. Is there a way to keep the former page open as well - until I close it - and have it display as a tab? I'm talking about opening up separate websites - not going from within one page and clicking a link to another. When I was using my AOL browser (which I gather is similar to IE), if I had a page opened - and then opened another - they would both be open. I'm assuming that isn't how firefox is set up by default. In which case, is there a way I can set it up like that? I did do the color tabs (I think I was looking on a link you provided in another thread for some cool add-ons and things for firefox). It's the only plugin or add-on that I got from the beginning bc. I knew I'd like that. Thank you. Lynn.

sometimes firefox will hang on shutdown anytime that happens just do as bpgreen said go to contrl alt delete select firefox and choose to end task, that will shut it down for you. If ever you have it pop up a box that says firefox is running already or that the profile is in use you need to create a new profile don't ever do that just close out that box and do exactly what I said above and end task on it.

It sounds like your "Add-Ons" dialog box launched on the 'Get Add-Ons' tab. Did you check Extensions or Plug-Ins? That should also be listed on the Sidebar.

What version of Firefox are you running?

I found something like it on my FF home page. Restore Previous Session. Works good enough. Thanks, guess I just needed some prompting to keep searching. Didn't expect to find it there.

I'm glad you found a workaround.

I still can't figure how why I have that option and you don't though.

It looks like for me:

If I set mine to "Show my windows and tabs from last time", closing Firefox and reopening causes the tabs I had open while closing to be opened again.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

That's not the Tools->Options->General menu

It's the Edit ->Preferences -> General dialog boxes.

Lazygardens...what browser/OS are you using? My FF with W7 has the identical box to Chuggerguy's when I open

Chugger's image is what I see in Tools >> Options >> General. I suspect that Firefox in the Linux OS that lazygardens is using is somewhat different. That leads me to wonder why he/she wants to get involved with the problems of a Windows user.

I fired up 2003 Server in Virtualbox to do the screenshot above, so it should look like XP.

Sometimes I do post screens using Linux Firefox. Not this time though. There's not much difference. Linux Firefox "Options" are called "Preferences" and are found under "Edit". So in Linux it is Edit->Preferences->General.

In Linux in looks like this:

The title looks to be the only real difference?

That's really strange ... because there's no reason for FireFox to maintain two different menu systems and two naming conventions.

Lemme look on my WinBox and see what it looks like.

Yeah, I don't know why they do that either. Personal choice of the respective maintainers perhaps?
