try seeing if it has an update if not try uninstalling it then re installing it. also clear your cache

Raven - I tried those steps and they didn't work. I got the latest update - cleared the cache - nothing. So I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. At first I had colors again. And then returned to my computer later - and the one tab I had opened from before (amazon) had color - but each new tab I opened was white again. When I closed the Amazon tab - and re-opened it, it is now white.

So the re-install seemed short-lived. Any other ideas?

Have you gone to Tools>Add-ons>ColorfulTabs, and then clicked on ColorfulTabs to bring up the Options menu for it ("Options" being listed right under its name, but you won't see it unless you click), and then made sure that you have the right option clicked. Mine is set on "Use Default Palette," but I notice that the last one on that list is one that says you have to right-click on a tab to decide on its color.

This may not be the way to fix things at all, since you say that at the beginning you had colored tabs again for awhile, but all I can think of is that there might be something you could do in "Options."

I did some more checking and found a forum where your sort of problem was discussed. It turned out that in that person's case, disabling another add-on called "Any Color" fixed the problem. Here is the URL for that problem.

I was going to say it could well be a conflict with another add on causing it. you can try disabling them one at a time to see if that would help or start firefox in firefox safemode(start>allprograms>firefox>safemode) and then just enable colorful tabs and see if it works properly if so then it is most likely one of your other add ons conflicting. going to the creators homepage can often lead you to helpful suggestions.

Biwako - I went to options and changed it to default (I had had it set for colors to correlate with domain - and it used to work like that - but I thought I'll try anything). Again - it worked at first - and then the color goes away (it's odd - it's not just when I close a tab or open a new one that it's white - the same tab that was blue before - now is white - no colors now at all).

I cannot imagine what add-on might conflict. It's a daunting task to figure out which one. I've been so wild about the FF add-ons - that I have a ton of them. I don't believe any of them were new (oh - except for extensions to try and capture hulu streaming videos). I'll try the safemode and see if colorful tabs works there. If it does, I'm willing to try eliminating those last couple of video capture extensions. If that doesn't work - I'm in for a big, long process of elimination.

I don't have any color - or the other extensions that were identified as being incompatible with Colorful Tabs. But something else has gone awry - my all-in-one-sidebar doesn't work consistently either. I guess something I added or updated is causing a problem.

I'll report back if I figure it out.

I decided to enable several addons at a time - to see if I could find the culprit. I've re-enabled most of my addons (except about 6 of them related to video capture, media viewing and media converting) - and colorful tabs and AIOS work again.

Dangerous thing is, while I was looking at my addons - I started browsing more addons. I got 5 more that I may or may not get around to figuring out how to use. But they're compatible with my other addons.

Maybe later this weekend, I'll gradually try back the other addons to see if I can locate a culprit.

By any chance do you have the add-on "Classic Theme Restorer 1.3.0"? If so, remove that from your add-ons & you should be OK. The version 1.3.0beta14 did not have a conflict but the ver 1.3.0 seems to be the culprit on my computer at least. My desktop was working just fine but my laptop went bonkers today. Like you, I depend on Colorful Tabs & it was driving me crazy! Unlike yours, my tabs did turn white but turned a deep brick red which made it impossible to see what tabs were open. Removing the Classic Theme Restorer 1.3.0 seems to have fixed my problem. Hope it helps you with yours too!
