tab mix plus is probably the best tab add on and yes it allows you to actually even add extra rows of tabs.

Thank you, raven. I downloaded the add-on and it's going to be great. I recently removed AOL (except for ONE file that won't go)and my husband was missing a simple way to see his "favorites" when he logs on to FF. With so much room for tabs now, I can just keep those in plain sight for him when he logs on to FF.

I'm getting a ConnAPI.dll error message but I'll post that in another thread after I do a search. I understand that has to do with Nokia phone connectivity? I've never seen that before this week.

you are very welcome Pam glad that helped. One thing your husband may want to try, this is what I do and like it, I create folders on the bar directly above the tabs which is the bookmarks toolbar, in those folders I put say my daily faves the ones I go to first every day, then all I have to do is right click that folder and hit open all in tabs and voila there they all are. I do a folder for my emails too since I have a few and can open all them at once the same way.
I love the bookmarks tool bar, if you choose not to put them in folders you can simply drag any website you are currently on to the bookmarks tool bar by grabbing it's icon in the url bar and just drag it to that toolbar and it will stick, to change the name right click on the icon choose properties and you can make changes. to create the folder on the bar right click a clear space click new folder the box comes up to name it, then to put your faves in there just go to the website and drag it in or right click on the folder and select add bookmark here.

Oh wow, thanks for all the tips, raven. I had done some reading and learned to do folders for my most visited places, but he can't be bothered to click too many times in a new environment. ;)

I didn't know about dragging the url into a folder or onto the bookmarks toolbar...that saves a lot of steps. I love FF!

p.s. I did a search here on the forum for the Connapp.dll error and found the solution.

I have never used the bookmarks toolbar. I put something in bookmarks toolbar in the bookmarks menu but I don't see it anywhere on my screen? I do have websites that I check daily that it would be nice to have them all open at once in tabs.

when you put something in the bookmarks menu under the bookmarks toolbar it will appear on the bookmarks toolbar which is directly above the tabs on your firefox. To make sure you have the bookmarks toolbar active click up top on View then toolbars and make sure there is a check mark in front of bookmarks toolbar so that it shows up. Here is a picture of mine you can see my folders and stuff on my bookmarks toolbar

just go to View at the top toolbars and uncheck mark bookmarks toolbar and it will go away you can bring it back at any time by putting the check mark back. to delete individual items or folders simply right click and select delete.
