I think all you have to do is uninstall it in add/remove programs in the control panel then open your program files folder and find and delete the opera folder. It worked for me and I haven't seen any traces since. By the way I found two opera folders in program files. They were for different versions.

it is like firefox it keeps your settings and faves for you so that when you do a new install you have not lost all your stuff, that is a good feature actually. If you do not want it at all then just uninstall it from add remove and it will be gone, if you want to install again with out your settings and faves then you need to go into the program folder for it and delete your profile and all related files.

Related question - I use FF on my work and home machine. I'd like to have my many bookmarks on both machines. I tried Foxmarks and it didn't work and was a headache. Can I copy the folder on my home machine and put it on my work machine and get all those bookmarks and still keep my old bookmarks? I want to keep the bookmarks that are on that computer and add the ones from my other machine.

Thanks for the responses. I deleted the folder as bob414 suggested. Ravencajun, it may well be a "good feature actually" but only when you are armed with the knowledge that some programmer has written the word "partially" into the definition of uninstall/remove. When you get old and grumpy itÂs harder to out think someone who has already out thought you.

The final step in my program removal is to do a file search for any remnants using any variations of the program name to find the loose ends.
