To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter Click Ok and reboot your computer. No need to use it unless your using big java programs

Which browser are you using? Did you install the toolbar by itself, or did it come bundled with something else (like google earth, for example)? Did it ever work properly, or did it fail the first time you used it after installing it? In any event, I'd look in the ADD/REMOVE list to see if the toolbar is listed and if so-uninstall it. Also uninstall any program that you installed along with it. If the toolbar is not in the ADD/REMOVE list, you could try doing a system restore to a date prior to installing the toolbar. If you haven't already done so, search "google toolbar problems"-you may find an answer. In my opinion-toolbars are a nuisance and a waste of time...but your mileage amy vary. You can always try a different toolbar if you must have one. If a different one should also fail, you may have a hardware problem or a conflict with another process running on your laptop.

Ok I downloaded the malwarebytes and ran a full scan; went to bed because it was taking so long. Got up today and saw it had completed the scan and it found 4 items. So I clicked to remove them and it said to restart the computer. Before I did, I copied what the notepad said. Then restarted the computer. Unfortunately, when I restarted the computer, I was unable to get an internet connection so I got worried that I deleted an important program and clicked restore on the malbyte menu. Then when that didnt work, I called for tech support and spent the last hour & a half on the phone with technical support both with Microsoft and ATT Tech Support. Nothing was working. To make a long story short, the end result - I disconnected the modum, turned off the computer completely.....let it sit for about 3 mins and then plugged the modum back in; waited for all the lights to come on steady and then I restarted the computer. Everything seems to be working now, I can access the internet (obviously, since I'm posting here) and I went back to the malwarebytes program and copied what the note pad said. Not sure if this is different from what it said after the initial scan, before I clicked on "restore deleted items". You must pay careful attention when installing anything - always choose the "custom" install option. Free programs like AdBlock will often have an ad on program like the toolbar you are describing - you need to uncheck those items before installing.
