Deleting an unwanted toolbar

I just recently started using Google Chrome.....(jury is still out)...but I downloaded a toolbar called VGrabber and now I don't think I want it. I uninstalled in in my program menu but it still appears on my search pages. How do I get rid of it? I checked tools...nothing about deleting toolbars, checked downloads...nothing. HELP PLEASE.

If its a toolbar.. see link below
If its the search page, you have to change your default search page setting in the browswer.

What browser do you use ?

look for it in add remove programs and see if you see it listed there if so choose to remove it. as shown here at the hall of shame it apparently installs the ask toolbar which is definitely one you do not want on your pc. Installers Hall of Shame (Unwanted add-on)

Google toolbar & AOL removal

Yes, they were both listed but the google toolbar would not remove even after I clicked remove. So I uninstalled all the AOL programs. I think that took the google toolbar out, too. Then I ran a Super spyware blaster scan and made sure everything was clean. Now I ran a search on the pc for "AOL" and I am trying to delete everything that is still listed by doing that. Some of the items will not delete so I am not pushing my luck. Am I doing the right stuff? Thanks, Debbie.

to have the pc boot faster you would need to eliminate items from your start up menu through Run-> msconfig start up tab, and also you can go into services and select either manual or disable rather than auto if it is one that you know can be removed from auto. when you do a change in start up as you boot the next time a pop up comes up warning you that start up has changed simply check the box for do not show this again and continue on. that does come as an addon so go into the area where you have addons listed and try removing it from there. I don't use chrome, but in firefox it is under tools>addons.

Do you know when you installed it if it was recent your best bet with this stubborn thing might be to do a simple system restore to the day before you installed it.

any time you ask for help please tell us which version of windows you are using and the versions of the browsers since those will require different instructions.

If you need instructions for doing a system restore we need to know your windows version.

I would also run an updated malwarebytes free scan because that thing is often associated with malware.

as I said this thing is notorious for linking with known malware, this is one statement I found
"We found that the software has certain suspicious behavior such as downloading malicious codes, installing toolbar with usersÃ¯Â¿Â½ acknowledgement as well as changing homepage."

Running malwarebytes and superantispyware should take care of it but if not let us know.
