If you can boot into Safe Mode, run Malwarebytes again ( assume you get it updated regularly too). You should also check out Revo Uninstaller. If you have any other toolbars installed, get rid of them. A good crap cleaner is CCleaner. Run the cleaner. There is also a function to clean the Registry. Let it scan the Registry for issues but DO NOT clean them right away. Report back and let us know how many issues it finds.

You should run the disk defragmenter if it hasn't been used lately. There are other antivirus programs available which are far better than McAfee and some of them are free. I strongly urge you to consider something else. Nothing named McAfee will ever be on a computer owned by me.

hello, the machine is only 3 years old,yes i did destroy all the data on it after i formatted.i still have the larger drive but it won't read it. last night a neighbor gave me a windows 2000 disc and i formatted the drive again and it worked;it saw the full capacity of the drive and is ready to use, however when i try to bring the second drive with 225 + gigs of data on it it will not see it no matter how i switch things around bios won't read it, so i took it out, the drive i have working is set to master and is the only drive in the pc but bios says it is a secondary slave drive but it is on the primary ide channel and set to master!!everything in bios is set to auto detect drives,but as soon as i connect the other drive as a slave drive and reboot, the computer freezes and gets stuck on the post screen and hangs.funny thing is when i take that drive and put it in the hard drive enclosure that converts regular drives to use with usb and plug it into the computer i am on right now and reboot, windows comes up and says : found new hardware,mass storage usb device,your hardware is installed and ready to use,it even gives me a new drive letter,shows the drive as a western digital drive but... when i click on the drive letter it says please insert a disk into drive j....hmmm

Zep, I thought I would try the adware cleaner for my issue?

Hi casi, You used the search option and lots of junk was found, lets delete it all. Please rescan with AdwCleaner. Double-click AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. Click Delete this time. Everything that was found will be deleted. Save and open files and approve the reboot. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.

Yes I have, I did it just last night. I had a problem before this and I believe others did to. It may be what is keeping me from reversing this problem. When I put my quick launch shortcuts in an order that I want them some of them move when I reboot. I think this may be linked to that problem. I chatted with a support tech and they gave me a patch to download and it did not work. It got rid of everything including the things in the quick launch. I put them all back, but still no desktop shortcuts. I may have to do a reformat, but not sure I can get all of my wireless stuff back in working condition.

Revo uninstaller will get rid of the folders and any registry entries pertaining to Kiwee Toolbar. I use it in the "Moderate" setting. Let it delete all that it finds. I second everything Azinoh wrote in the post above.
